R Truth wins and defends US Title on Smackdown
In an incredible turn of events, R Truth is now the United States Champion after beating Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev in back-to-back matches.
On SmackDown, it was announced that Shinsuke Nakamura, who won the title at the Royal Rumble Kick-off show two days ago, will defend his title against R-Truth. The truth came out for the match and explained that he was getting the title shot since was attacked by Nia Jax before the Royal Rumble/ He was unable to enter the Rumble match and that he would have won that match if not for Jax’s heinous attack.
Truth then faced off with Nakamura in a quick match where he was able to pin Nakamura to win the U.S. Championship. Then Rusev, who lost the US Title to Nakamura at Royal Rumble, came out to challenge Truth. The truth was again able to roll up Rusev to get the win. After the match, Truth was attacked by Nakamura at the ringside. Rusev also joined the attack on Truth to turn heel now.
After a frantic period of drama, Truth is now the United States Champion. While Rusev and Nakamura will now join hands to take on Gallows and Anderson in a Tag Team match next week on SmackDown.
