Pro-Wrestlers React to Triller Fight Club: Paul vs Eskren Event

Jake Paul's entrance with Robot

Triller Fight Club’s first PPV: Paul vs Eskren was a mad event, to say the least. Fans who brought the PPV expecting to see some good fights were in for a shock with unending musical performances, strippers, slap fight featuring Ric Flair, and a lot more apart from good boxing bouts.

Triller, the short video social media company, presented their first PPV on 17 April 2021 from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. The company had onboarded Snoop Dogg to promote the boxing fights and promised a plethora of musical performances.

Before the event, Ric Flair has said that Triller is trying to copy WWE’s approach in a way when Vince McMahon created WrestleMania by combining the wrestling PPV with the mainstream entertainment industry.

“They got it all from Vince McMahon! They got it all from WWE. The NBA, baseball, football, the entrances get grander, the All-Star games get bigger, the Super Bowl gets bigger, but it all started with WrestleMania.”

By the time the show ended, it was clear Triller is trying to create events that will be high on the entertainment perspective.

Black Keys opened the show with their performance. The comedian Pete Davidson conducted interviews with Paul and Eskren to make a mockery out of the proceedings. Joe Fournier dropped the reggaeton artist Reykon with a knockout punch in the second round to win the first match.

Saweetie was next in the line-up with her songs. Snoop Dogg also had his friends Mt. Westmore(comprising of Snoop Dogg, E-40 , Ice Cube and Too Short). Twitter was already having a field day by this point. Next, Pete Davidson and WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair were commentators for a slap fight before Doja Cat added her name in the list of musicians to perform.

We got a tribute to DMX from Snoop Dogg before finally getting to Steve Cunningham vs former UFC champion Frank Mir. Mir was able to survive till the last round but lost via unanimous decision. Regis Prograis defeated Ivan Redkach via technical decision. Redkach tried to sell a body shot as a low blow during that match which drew many hillarious memes.

Justin Beiber got into the act before the main event. Jake Paul pulled off another hilarious moment for the internet as he entered with a robot. The main event ended in under two minutes as Paul dropped Askren with a knockout punch.
