NJPW is holding events at Tokyo Dome on January 4 every year since 1992. However, Wrestle Kingdom name has been used only since 2007.
For the last three years, Wrestle Kingdom has been taking place over 2 or 3 nights. This year, only 1 night of the event is announced.
For the last two years, one of the nights has been NJPW vs Pro Wrestling NOAH events. Last year, night 2 of Wrestle Kingdom 17, which was the NJPW vs NOAH show, took place on January 21, 2023, at Yokohama Arena.
The headliner bout for January 4 event is usually between IWGP World Heavyweight Champion and G1 Climax winner. G1 Climax 33 is set to start on July 15. Check here for the upcoming NJPW schedule.
