Liv Morgan will make her first defense of WWE SmackDown Women’s title against Ronda Rousey at WWE SummerSlam 2022.

WWE has confirmed the match for Summer’s biggest party via social media and its website.

Liv Morgan won the Money in the Bank Ladder match at the namesake event last weekend and earned a contract for a World title shot at the time of her choosing. She did not waste much time and was quick to in cashing in that contract after Ronda Rousey defeated Natalya to retain the SmackDown Women’s title.

Natalya worked on Ronda’s knee throughout the match at Money in the Bank. Ronda was able to fight out of it though and managed to beat Natalya by D’Arce Choke. Ronda was not able to stand properly after the match though and Liv ran out to cash in the Money in the Bank contract. Ronda immediately put her in an ankle. Liv struggled for a while, but he roll up Ronda into an inside cradle using her injured knee and got the pinfall to win the title.

Liv Morgan became just the third person in WWE to pin Ronda Rousey after Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair. This was also Liv’s first World title win.

Liv was celebrating the title win on Smackdown this week when Natalya interrupted her to take credit for her win. Ronda Rousey also came out and revealed that she is getting a title shot against Liv Morgan at SummerSlam 2022.

Ronda defeated Natalya in a singles match that followed this segment. Liv Morgan is also set to face Natalya next week in a Championship Contender’s match.

The count for announced matches for SummerSlam 2022 has now reached 4. Universal title and United States title matches have been announced earlier apart from Happy Corbin vs Pat McAfee singles match.
