It hasn’t been 24 hours since CM Punk won the AEW World Championship, and he already has some potential future opponents in his mind.

CM defeated Hangman Adam Page in the main event of AEW Double or Nothing 2022 to become the new champion. During the post-media scrum of the event, CM Punk discussed some opponents he would like to face.

Initially, Punk answered this keeping AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door in mind stating that he would love to face guys like Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Will Ospreay.

When it comes to AEW talent, he said he would give the first preference to Bryan Danielson. He also said he never wrestled Jon Moxley as he wrestled Dean Ambrose in the past, and hence it would be an interesting match-up.

Punk also mentioned guys like Ricky Stark, Jungle Boy, and Will Hobbs and thinks they have a lot of potential. He said AEW’s roster is quite stacked, and it would not be possible to do justice to every single one of them at the same time.

CM Punk won the world title after a long gap of nine years. His last world title reign ended at Royal Rumble 2013 when he lost against The Rock. The following year, Punk quit WWE, and the industry before making his return last year in August.
