AEW Double or Nothing 2022 will the fourth event in the “Double or Nothing” series and AEW’s second PPV event of 2022. The show is scheduled for May 29 from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV.

CM Punk will challenge AEW World Champion Adam Page in the main event. Thunder Rosa will defend the Women’s title against Serena Deeb. The finals of the inaugural Men and Women Owen Hart Foundation Tournament will take place on this show. AEW Tag Team title will be on the line in a triple threat match. TBS Women’s title match will see Jade Cargill defending against Anna Jay. Jericho Appreciation Society will face Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Eddie Kingston, Santana & Ortiz in Anarchy in the Arena match.

AEW confirmed on February 24, 2022, that Double of Nothing PPV will air on May 29, 2022, at T-Mobile Arena. This is the first time that AEW is holding a PPV at T-Mobile Arena, which is now the biggest arena(capacity wise) where AEW is holding a PPV. The tickets went on sale on March 4, 2022, and were sold out within hours.

On December 17, 2021, AEW revealed that the inaugural Owen Hart Tournaments for Men and Women divisions will take place in May 2022, and the final will take place at Double or Nothing PPV.

On April 20, 2022 episode of Dynamite, CM Punk was celebrating his win over Dustin Rhodes when AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page came out to the stage for a brief staredown. On April 27 episode of Dynamite, AEW officially announced a match between Page and Punk. During the build-up, Punk defeated John Silver while Page defeated Konosuke Takeshita in different singles matches.

On April 20, 2022 episode of Dynamite, AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa said she will defend the title at Double or Nothing. On May 4, 2022, AEW confirmed that Serena Deeb will challenge for the title after a promo segment between Rose and Deeb. Deeb cut a promo against Rosa on Dynamite episode of May 18, where he also called out the likes of Tony Schiavone and Dustin Rhodes for giving undue support to Rosa.

Eddie Kingston defeated Chris Jericho at AEW Revolution 2022. There was already some tension brewing between Jericho and his Inner Circle teammates Santana and Ortiz. On the following episode of Dynamite, Jericho turned heel by attacking Kingston. Daniel Garcia, Matt Menard and Angelo Parker as well as Jake Hager joined Jericho when Santana and Ortiz tried to make the save. The two factions continued to feud for the coming months. Jon Moxley, Kingston’s former tag team partner, also joined the storyline along with Bryan Danielson. On May 18 episode of Dynamite, the two factions were involved in a promo segment where Moxley challenged for a 5-on-5 tag team match. Jericho tried to turn the match in to Stadium Stampede match, but Moxley said it will be a different stipulation. AEW later confirmed that this will be Anarchy in the Arena match, which will be similar to a Street Fight.

Red Velvet faced Kris Statlander in the round 1 match of women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament on AEW Rampage episode of May 20. Statlander defeated Velvet despite interferences from the Baddies(Kiera Hogan & Jade Cargill). After the match, Hogan and Cargill attacked Statlander but Ruby Soho and, later, Anna Jay came out to save Statlander. Later in the show, Cargill challenged Jay to face her at Double or Nothing in TBS Women’s Championship match.
