In an interesting turn of events, Apollo Crews was injured during WWE RAW last night and is now pulled out of Money in the Bank Ladder match at the namesake PPV.

Last week on RAW, Apollo Crews defeated MVP to qualify for MITB Ladder match. Rey Mysterio and Aleister Black also won their respective matches to gain the other spots in the match. This week, all three of them were the guests on MVP’s VIP Loungue show.

Before the segment could make any headway, the group was interrupted by Zelina Vega, WWE United States Champion Andrade, Austin Theory and Angel Garza. As Vega started running her mouth, one thing led to another and we got a six-man tag team match between the two groups. After a long drawn out match, Apollo Crews was able to get the pin over Austin Theory to win the match.

Afterward, Andrade was questioned backstage about losing the match and he shifted the complete blame on his tag team partners. He also claimed that none of his opponents could beat him in a title match. As Apollo Crews mocked him over the statement, they got into an altercation and Vega issued a challenge for the United States title match later on the show.

During the match, Andrade kept working on Crews’ knee. And after putting up a good fight, Crews was disqualified from the match with his knee in bad condition. Later, WWE announced via its website that Crews has injured his knee and will not be taking part in Money in the Bank Ladder match.

It is expected that WWE will hold another qualifier next week on RAW to replace Crews in the match. As the next week’s show was already taped yesterday, an announcement could come anytime during the week. The last spot from SmackDown will also be determined this week. The winner of the match between Otis and Dolph Ziggler will take final SmackDown spot.
