The TV Rating war between the Wrestling Shows AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT is unofficially called the Wednesday Night War. Check the list of ratings for AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT for every week of Wednesday Night Wars.

All Elite Wrestling was established in early 2019 and within months they announced their weekly TV show to air on TNT. Titled AEW Dynamite, the show was slotted for Wednesday Nights. The company was considered as the first major threat to WWE’s crown as the only major wrestling company in North America.

In an attempt to counter-program Dynamite and keep its viewership in check, WWE pushed its developmental show NXT to air on Wednesday against Dynamite in the same time slot. NXT aired on the USA Network for the first time on 19 September 2019, two weeks before AEW Dynamite’s debut on 2 October 2019.

Since the start of this war, AEW held a lead over NXT both in terms of overall viewership as well as rating in the key 18-49 demographics. While the debut episode for Dynamite got 1.4 million viewership, NXT garnered only 891000 viewers in the same week. In the first 50 weeks, AEW Dynamite won 42 nights with NXT winning 7, and only once did the shows tied in viewership.
