Welcome to the live results blog for AEW Rampage April 7, 2023 episode which was be live from Kingston, RI, on the same night as Battle of the Belts VI.

A stacked card was announced for a one-hour show. Hook and Ethan Page clashed in a rematch just days after Hook defeated Page at Dynamite. But this time, it was an FTW Rules match for FTW title. We got an announcement from Shane “Swerve” Strickland while AEW TBS Women’s Champion Jade Cargill had a sitdown with Taya Valkyrie.

Anna Jay and Julia Hart clashed in a singles match. Darby Allin faced Lee Moriarty from the Firm. The Acclaimed teamed up with Matt Menard and Angelo Parker of Jericho Appreciation Society in a tag team match.

RESULTS

  • Hook(c) defeated Ethan Page in a FTW Rules match via submission to retain FTW Championship.
  • Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, Matt Menard & Angelo Parker defeated The Infantry, Bobby Orlando & LSG in a tag team via pinfall.
  • Darby Allin defeated Lee Moriarty in a singles match via pinfall.
  • Julia Hart defeated Anna JayAS in a singles match via pinfall.

LIVE UPDATES

Hook(c) vs Ethan Page – FTW Rules match for FTW Championship

Page kicks Hook before he gets into the ring. Page goes to the floor and hits more shots. Hook fires back with his shots. He brings out a table and throws into the ring. Page hits more punches. Hook sends his face into the ringpost. They brawl into the crowd as Hook keeps control. Page fires back with some punhces but Hook hits back. Page flicks into Hook’s eyes. Hook throws a water bottle to Page’s face as they continue to brawl in the crowd.

Page slams Hook’s face into the railings. He screams into the crowd. Hook hits back with more punches. Hook hits crossface shots. We cut to a break.

Page is in control as we return from the break. Hook hits him with a T-Bone suplex on the floor. Hook throws in a table and some chairs into the ring. Hook counters a powerbomb attempt and runs over Page. Page blocks an exploder suplex before he body slams Hook through the announce table. They get into the ring now. Page sets up a table in the corner.

Hook ducks a chair shot but Page hits it into Hook’s midsection. Page’s chair shots ricochets off the ropes. Hook hits a Twist of Fate to get a near fall. Page blocks a suplex through the table and nails a big boot. Page goes for Ego’s Edge but Hook counters with RedRum to get the submission.

Winner – Hook

Hook puts Page through the table set up in the corner.


We cut to a QTV segment. They mock Lucha Bros and their Lucha Libre style.

Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, Matt Menard & Angelo Parker vs The Infantry, Bobby Orlando & LSG

Matt Menard and Angelo Parker come out with Jake Hager. They claim that The Acclaimed will join JAS tonight. The Acclaimed come out and mock them in their rap.

Bowens starts the match against LSG. Bowens hits some chops adn thrust kick. Menard tags in. Parker also comes in and they knock off the other team off the apron. Caster tags in and brings down his opponent. Bowens hits Scissor Me Timbers before Menard and Parker stop the interruption. They tease a 4-way scissoring but The Acclaimed scissor within themselves. Bowens hits a side slam before Caster hits Mic drop elbow drop to get the pinfall.

Winner – Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, Matt Menard & Angelo Parker

They pose after the match. Jake Hager picks up Billy Gunn and hits him with a spinebuster while Menard and Parker attack The Accalaimed. They stand tall over The Accalaimed and Billy Gunn.


Swerve Strickland is backstage and says it’s time to recruit more soilders for this war. He says he has signed a merger but we have to wait for later to find out who the merger is with.

Darby Allin vs Lee Moriarty

Quick counters from both men before Darby puts on a side headlock takeover. Lee puts on a headscissors lock. Lee puts on a cross-arm lock. Darby comes out of it and puts on the lock on Moriarty. Darby hits a back body drop before a cruicifix to get a two-count. The crowd gets behind Darby. They lock up again. Lee gets his shoulder down on the mat and stomps at his chest.

Lee sends Darby to the floor with a back body drop. He misses a running knee against the barricade. Darby hits a big blow to his back and throws Lee back into the ring. Big Bill runs over Darby with a big boot on the floor. We cut to a break.

Darby hits double boots from the corner as we return. He follows up with a shotgun dropkick. Darby goes to the top and knocks off Lee with back elbow. Big Bill distracts him and Moriarty trips him at the top rope. Moriarty puts on Full Nelson lock. Darby breaks it but Lee puts on the lock once again. He hits suplex when Darby goes to counter it. Darby blocks a suplex.

Lee hits punches to the ribs before dropping Darby on the ropes. He hits a big boot to drop Darby. Lee puts Darby on the top ropes and hits a superplex. Darby counters with an inside cradle for a two-count. Darby gets another pin attempt before Lee traps him in a pin attempt for a near fall. More counters from both sides until Darby hits Code Red. Darby hits a suicide dive on Big Bill on the floor. Darby hits a coffin drop on Lee to get the pinfall.

Winner – Darby Allin

After the match, Swerve Strickland’s music hits as Darby was on the ramp. Swerve comes out and offers Darby a handshake. Brian Cage runs in and tackles Darby. Cage hits Darby with an F5 on the stage. Prince Nana comes out and shakes hands with Swerve.


RJ City mediates a sitdown with Jade Cargill and Taya Cargill. Taya says this move is being used by legends for decades and she is also using it before her for a long time. Taya says Jade does not get to decide who does what here. Jade calls her a bitch and they get into each other’s face. Mark Sterling says they will see Taya in court.

Anna JayAS vs Julia Hart

Anna attacks Julia from behind before the bell rings. Julia hits back on the floor and throws Anna into the barricade a couple of times. She slams Anna’s face into mat a few times. Anna runs out and Julia chases her. Anna catches her with a kick on her way back in. Julia slams Anna into the corner. Anna does the same in the other corner. They go to the floor and Anna swings Julia into the barricade to take us to a break.

Julia hits back with an uppercut and goes on to slam Anna into four corners. Julia hits another uppercut, a kick and a sledge hammer in quick succession. Julia hits a standing moonsault press to get a two-count. Julia goes for a handspring but Anna ducks it and slams her to the mat to get a two-count.

Anna puts on queenslayer but Julia backs her into the corner. She whips Anna to the corner and hits a clothesline and a hammer elbow. Julia puts Anna to the top. Anna trips Julia into a tree of woe. Julia gets up and hits a suplex. Julia hits a moonsault to get a near fall. Julia goes for Hartness but Anna counters with a crucifix to get a two-count.

More back and forth before Anna goes for queenslayer again. Julia takes her to the floor to break free. Anna gets back into the ring. Julia throws in a steel chair to distract the referee and spits Black Mist on Anna. She gets Anna into an inside cradle to get the pinfall.

Winner – Julia Hart

Julia gets to the ramp after the match. Orange Cassidy makes his entrance to kick off Battle of the Belts 6.
