Welcome to the live results blog for an action-packed episode of AEW Dynamite on December 7, 2022 episode.

Two big title matches are slated for the show with Samoa Joe defending TNT Championship against Darby Allin. The Acclaimed will defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against FTR.

The build-up for AEW Winter is Coming will continue as we hear from AEW World Champion MJF, Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter and Jon Moxley. We will get to know more entrants for Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal.

Jake Hager and Daniel Garcia will face Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta in the build-up for ROH Final Battle PPV. TBS Women’s Champion Jade Cargill and The Baddies will face Madison Rayne, Skye Blue and Kiera Hogan.

  • Samoa Joe(c) defeated Darby Allin in a singles match via pinfall to retain AEW TNT Championship.

  • Jade Cargill, Red Velvet & Leila Gray defeated Madison Rayne, Skye Blue & Keira Hogan in a tag team match via pinfall.
  • The Acclaimed(Anthony Bowens & Max Caster)(c) defeated FTR(Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) in a tag team match via pinfall to retain AEW World Tag Team Championship.

LIVE UPDATES

Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royal

Kip Sabian and Orange Cassidy are the first pair with some significant action. They brawl on the floor for a while before getting back to the ring. Sabian uses a low bridge to send Cassidy over the top rope. Cassidy hangs onto the ropes and fights back. But, The Blade attacks Cassidy and pulls him to the floor to eliminate him. Dustin Rhodes throws Sabian to the floor.

Castle is caught by The Boys and saved from elimination. They put him back to the apron. Cage throws Castle on the Boys now to eliminate him. Jack Perry hits a superkick on Cage to send him to the apron. Perry and Cage fight on the apron. Perry hits a Meteora on the apron to eliminate Cage.

The Butcher is on the apron as we return from the break. He fights back against Starks before Starks hits him with a spear to eliminate him. Perry eliminates Lee Moriarty with a hurricanrana. W Morrisey pulls Perry off the apron to eliminate him. Morrisey then hits a chokeslam on Perry on the apron. Ricky Starks, Captain Shawn Dean, Matt Hardy and Ethan Page are the only ones left in the ring.

Dean fights back against Hardy and Page. He looks to eliminate Page but Hardy hits him with Whisper of The Wind. Page tells Hardy to eliminate Dean, but Hardy argues with him and Page has to eliminate Dean himself. Starks capitalize on Page and Hardy’s argument and dumps Hardy to the floor. Starks misses a spear on Page. Page goes for a body slam to eliminate Starks but Starks counters with a hurricanrana to eliminate Page and get the win. Starks will now face MJF for Dynamite Diamond Ring.

Winner – Ricky Starks

Starks’ music is cut off after a few seconds as MJF makes his entrance. MJF says Bryan Danielson has refused to appear on Dynamite this week because Bryan is scared of him after what he did to William Regal. MJF says Starks is s##t in compared to him. He calls Starks a “Dollar Store Dwyane”. MJF goes on length to call Starks names and claim that he will beat Starks easily. MJF adds that he is a generational talent and his reign of terror has just begun.

Starks fires back with his promo and says he was always expecting MJF to come out and take the spotlight. He says everything about MJF is cheap- his cheap suits, shoes, heat, haircut.. everything. Starks says MJF disappoints everyone. He turned on the crowd and turned on Regal while Starks deliver. Starks says when he was living in his car, he was being responsible and he was grinding his time. Next week, he will beat his a## and take that title away. He will do MJF a favor and take away responsibility away from him.

MJF hits Starks with a low blow. He gets ready for shot with his Diamond Ring, but Starks ducks it and hits him with a spear. Starks poses with the title. MJF snatches the title away and runs out.


Jon Moxley says he is starting to like Adam Page talking with his fists. There should not be so much talking and much more action. He says they will leave Jericho Appreciation Society in rearview mirror this week and if Page wants to take him on, he knows where to find him.

Samoa Joe(c) vs Darby Allin – AEW TNT Championship

They have a staredown in the ring before Darby starts the proceeding with punches. Joe throws him in the corner. Darby comes out of the corner and hits Joe with a dropkick. Joe walks away from a suicide dive and Darby lands into the barricade. Joe catapults him and rams him into the barricade and apron. Joe pulls out the padding on the floor. Joe hits a side suplex next. Joe looks to slam him on the exposed floor. Darby slips away but Joe still hits him with a power slam on the exposed section. We cut to a break.

Joe throws Darby head-first into the barricade and Darby lands on the floor. Darby is checked by a doctor ringside before he returns. Joe hits him with a manhattan drop and a dropkick. Joe goes to the floor. Darby goes for a dive but Joe catches him. Darby slips out and sends Joe’s knees into the steel steps. Darby then hits a Coffin Drop on the floor. Darby hits an upkick in the ring. He follows up with a stunner and Code Red to get a near fall.

Joe hits STO from the corner. He looks for Muscle Buster. Darby punches him to block it. Darby bites Joe and pushes him from the top rope. Darby goes for a Coffin Drop, but Joe counters it with Coquina Clutch. Darby refuses to give up. Joe keeps the pressure on and the referee calls the match.

Winner – Samoa Joe

After the match, Darby dares Joe to take him on. Joe hits him with a headbutt. Joe sets up Darby’s skateboard in the middle of the ring and hits a Muscle Buster on it. He puts Darby in Coquina Clutch once again. Wardlow runs out now and Joe leaves the ring with both of his titles.


Tony Schiavone is with Orange Cassidy and Kip Sabian backstage. Cassidy says Sabian can have a shot at All Atlantic Championship anytime he wants. Sabian says Cassidy waited until he was hurt. Cassidy replies that if he cant face him on Rampage this week, he can go and find someone else. Schiavone clarifies that Cassidy will face someone of Sabian’s choosing.


We get a video package for Chris Jericho vs Claudio Castagnoli match at ROH Final Battle. Jericho says he is looking forward to make Claudio his protege.

Wheeler Yuta & Claudio Castagnoli vs Jake Hager & Daniel Garcia

Garcia was starting against Yuta, but he tags in Hager. Hager throws his purple hat to Claudio. Claudio kicks that hat into the crowd. Hager hits a knee to midsection on Yuta. He runs over Yuta with a big shoulder tackle. Garcia stomps on him in the corner. Yuta fights back wit chops, hits a body slam and a senton to get get a two-count. Claudio tags in and hits a big boot. Hager gets the tag but Claudio drops him with a drop-toe hold. Claudio works on Hager for a while before tagging in Yuta.

Yuta throws Hager to the floor and hits a suicide dive. Garcia distracts Yuta and Hager slams him to the mat before hitting a Hager Bomb. Yuta kicks out of the pin. Garcia tags in and unloads in the corner. Garcia takes Yuta to the top. Yuta fights back and hits a superplex. We cut to a break.

Garcia hits a big boot on Yuta. Yuta comes back off the ropes and hits a German suplex. Hot tags to Claudio and Hager. Claudio hits several uppercuts before hitting more uppercuts in the corner. He puts Hager on the second rope and hits hurricanrana to get a twp-count. Claudio looks for a swing but Garcia intervenes. Yuta hits Garcia with a splash. Hager goes for an ankle lock on Claudio but Claudio breaks it with an upkick. Claudio puts Hager in the swing. Claudio goes for a springboard move but Sammy intervenes. Moxley attacks Sammy on the floor. Hager puts Claudio in an ankle lock. Garcia comes in and puts Yuta in a sharpshooter. Claudio breaks the ankle lock and kicks Hager into Garcia. Claudio covers Hager and gets the pin.

Winner – Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta

Tony Schiavone gets into the ring and tells Blackpool Combat Club that he has an interview from Wiliam Regal to show them. Regal reveals that he has his history with MJF, but on top of that, Blackpool Combat Club does not need him anymore but they would not let him go. He adds that Wheeler Yuta can be best wrestler in the world. He tells Jon Moxley to always have eyes on his back.

BCC members are still processing what Regal has said. Schiavone asks for their reaction. Moxley replies that BCC members live an die for professional wrestling. He then calls for an open challenge on Rampage.


We get a pre-recorded promo from Malakai Black. Black says AEW allows corruption and their sentence is extermination. Anyone who is against what they are doing can come see them next Wednesday.


Tony Schiavone is with AEW Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter. Hayter takes offense on not getting an interview for this long. Hayter says she is on top of the division and she will give a title shot to the winner of Hikaru Shida vs The Bunny match at Rampage.

Jade Cargill, Red Velvet & Leila Gray vs Madison Rayne, Skye Blue & Keira Hogan

Hogan wanted to start, but Blue is the one starting. Velvet starts for the other team. They start with some back-and-forth action and some pin attempts. Velvet tells Blue to tag out and takes advantage of the distraction by slamming her face into the mat. Gray tags in and sends Blue to the corner. Blue dodges her in the corner and hits a low kick to trip her. Rayne gets the tag to work on Gray. Tags back to Blue and Velvet. Blue ducks a clothesline and hits a superkick. Velvet goes to the floor. She traps Blue in the apron skirt and unloads on her. We cut to a break.

We return to see both Velvet and Blue taking each other out with superkicks at the same time. Jade and Hogan get the tags. Hogan unloads with punches and kicks to send Jade to the corner. Hogan sends Gray and Velvet to the floor. Jade hits her with a spinebuster. Hogan slips out and tags in Blue. Jade hits Blue with the Jaded to get the pin.

Winner – Jade Cargill, Red Velvet & Leila Gray

Red Velvet does not look happy as their team celebrates.


Saraya is with Tony Schiavone backstage. Before they could talk much, Britt Baker interrupts and hands Saraya a ticket for Dynamite on January 11. Baker says Saraya could chose to be in the front row to watch her or step into the ring. Saraya says she would love to beat her once again, but Baker tells her that it will be a tag team match. Jamie Hayter will be Baker’s partner. Saraya asks Schiavone to go and search for her partner. Baker takes Schiavone away like a possessive girlfriend.

The Acclaimed(Anthony Bowens & Max Caster)(c) vs FTR(Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) – AEW World Tag Team Championship

Cash and Bowens start the match. Cash takes Bowens down with side headlock takeovers. Bowens counters with a side headlock of his own. Dax and Max tag in. Dax hits a shoulder tackle. Max hits a hip toss. Dax hits a dropkick. Max hits an armdrag. Bowens tags in and Dax hits him with a big chop in the corner. Bowens also fires in a chop. They both block hip toss from each other. Max and Cash also get into the ring to start a brawl. Max clotheslines Cash to the floor. Dax is hit with a body slam from Max before Bowens hits a scissor leg drop on him.

Dax goes for a sharpshooter on Max, but Max counters with his own sharpshooters. Bowens and Cash get in again. Bowens puts Cash in a sharpshooter while Max does the same to Dax. Dax reaches the ropes to break it. FTR goes to the floor. Bowens is sent to the ringpost on the floor. FTR slams Max into the apron before slamming him into rails under the ring. We cut to a break.

Max hits a diving crossbody as we return. Dax gets the tag and blocks a tag. Max hits a back body drop on Dax and tags in Bowens. Bowens nails Cash with some shots before big blows on Dax. Cash is sent to the floor before Bowens hits a superkick on Dax. Dax avoids a Fameouser and hits German Suplexes. Bowens hits a neckbreaker to get a near fall and he is frustrated about not getting a pin. Cash gets a blind tag and FTR hit a spiked piledriver. Bowens kicks out of the pin again.

FTR go for Big Rig on Bowens but Max saves him with a spear. Bowens gets Dax in an inside cradle for a near fall. The Acclaimed hit double-team cutter but Dax kicks out. FTR’s Big Rig is blocked. Acclaimed’s Big Rig is also blocked. Bowens is thrown to the floor. FTR manages to hit Max with Big Rig but Bowens breaks the pin. Bowens is thrown to the floor again. Cash tags in and Dax goes to the top with Max. Bowens helps Max to counter Dax. Bowens hits Cash with a spinebuster. Max could not hit an elbow drop.

More quick action follows. Cash hits short-arm clotheslines on Max. Cash goes for a cover but Max counters with a jackknife cover to get the pin.

Winner – The Acclaimed

Billy Gunn gets into the ring and shows respect to FTR. FTR and The Acclaimed scissor in the middle of the ring. The Gunn Club appear on the screen and inform FTR that they will face The Briscoe Bros in a double dog collar match. The show goes off the air.
