UFC 284: Rodrigues vs Ross & Crute vs Menifield Added to Perth Card
UFC has officially announced two more matches involving Australian fighters to UFC 284 PPV fight card.
Australia’s Shannon Ross(13-6) will fight fellow Kleydson Rodrigues(7-2) in a flyweight bout. Another Australian Jimmy Crute(12-3) will face Alonzo Menifield(13-3) in a light heavyweight bout.
Shannon Ross lost in Dana White Contender Series 2022 season to Vinicius Salvador. Ross was signed to UFC despite that loss. He will face Brazil’s Kleydson Rodrigues in his UFC debut.
Brazil’s Rodrigues lost his UFC debut bout at UFC 274 to CJ Vergara. He signed with the promotion through Dana White Contender Series 2021 season before a 5-1 record in Brazilian promotions.
Jimmy Crute has two stoppage losses in a row. He first got injured in a bout against Anthony Smith after round one, and was later knocked out by Jamahal Hill in 58 seconds later in 2021. He did not fight in UFC in 2022.
On the other side, Alonzo Menifield will be entering the bout on a two-fight winning streak in 2022. First, he defeated Askar Mozharov and Misha Cirkunov in the first round.
UFC 284 will take place at RAC Arena in Perth, Australia on February 11, 2023(Feb 12 Local Time). Islam Makhachev vs Alexander Volkanovski fight for the lightweight title will headline the event.
