The third fight of the Brandon Moreno vs Deiveson Figueiredo trilogy is all set to take place at UFC 269.

The new flyweight champion, Brandon Moreno will defend his title for the very first at the UFC’s last PPV event of this year. He won the title by defeating Figueiredo, and now his first title defense will take place against the same opponent.

Deiveson Figueiredo defended the Flyweight title against Brandon Moreno in their first fight at UFC 256. This fight ended in a draw after five rounds and is considered as one of the best fights of 2020. Due to this majority draw, Moreno was granted a rematch.

The flyweights collided inside the octagon again at UFC 263. This time, Moreno was able to get the win with a rear-naked choke submission in the third round and became the UFC Flyweight Champion.

Since then, Moreno is yet to defend his title, but this wait will be over at UFC 269. A source familiar with the situation confirmed to MMA Junkie that Brandon Moreno vs Dieveson Figueiredo for the flyweight title will take place at UFC 269. ESPN also reported that Moreno has agreed to defend his title against Figueiredo.

The UFC is yet to confirm the venue for this event which is currently scheduled for December 11, 2021.

This will be the second title match of UFC 269. Besides this one, Amanda Nunes vs Julianna Pena for the women’s bantamweight title will also take place at the event. That match was earlier set to take place at UFC 265, but got postponed after Nunes was found COVID-19 just two weeks before the event.
