Mateusz Gamrot vs Beneil Dariush Set for UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi

A new lightweight match has been added to the match card of the UFC 280 PPV event. 

Mateusz Gamrot is all set to collide against Beneil Dariush in a lightweight bout later this year in Abu Dhabi on October 22. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reported this news first, which was later confirmed by several sources. 

Mateusz Gamrot is on a four-fight winning streak and is coming off a decision victory against Arman Tsarukyan. He defeated the likes of Carlos Diego Ferreira, Jeremy Stephens, and Scott Holtzman to extend his winning streak. 

On the other hand, Beneil Dariush has been undefeated since 2018. He is having a dream run of his career as he is on a seven-fight streak. His most recent win came against Tony Ferguson last year in May. 

Now, one of the winning streaks will be snapped when these two lightweights enter the octagon at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on October 22. 

The main event of UFC 280 is yet to be announced but it is likely that Charles Oliveira vs Islam Makhachev will headline the event.
