Almeida vs Sabatini Set for UFC Vegas 75 as Almeida-Dawodu Nixed from UFC 289
Lucas Almeida will not fight on June 10 at UFC 289, but a week later at the UFC Fight Night event on June 17.
According to the latest reports, Lucas Almeida vs Hakeem Dawodu will not take place at UFC 289 anymore after Dawodu withdrew from this scheduled bout. But, Almeida will fight in June as he steps up to face Pat Sabatini at UFC Vegas 75 on June 17, 2023.
Marcell Dorff of EuroSports reported this change first which was later confirmed by several other sources as well.
Pat Sabatini is coming off a first-round TKO loss against Damon Jackson. This loss also breaks his four-fight winning streak. Before that, he defeated the likes of TJ Laramie, Tucker Lutz, Jamall Emmers, and Tristant Connelly.
On the other hand, Lucas Almeida impressed everyone in his inaugural UFC match as he defeated Michael Trizano via third-round TKO.
Pat Sabatini is determined to get back on the winning path whereas Almeida will try to keep impressing everyone. Hence, it will be interesting to see who leaves the octagon with a win on June 17.
