Montserrat Ruiz Set to Return Against Jaqueline Amorim at UFC Vegas 78
A new women’s strawweight bout has been scheduled for the UFC Vegas 78 event.
According to the latest reports, Montserrat Ruiz is all set to make her comeback inside the octagon after two long years against Jaqueline Amorim at UFC Vegas 78 on August 12, 2023.
Carlos Contreras Legaspi was the first one to report this matchup which was later confirmed by Marcel Dorff of EuroSports on Twitter.
Montserrat Ruiz had her last match back in July 2021 when she faced Amanda Lemos. The latter defeated her via first-round TKO. This match ended in just 35 seconds. After this match, Ruiz went on a hiatus. Her last UFC win came against Cheyanne Vlismas in March 2021.
On the other hand, Jaqueline Amorim recently had her UFC debut at UFC 287. However, she lost her debut match against Sam Hughes via unanimous decision.
Amorim is on the lookout for her first UFC win whereas Ruiz is looking forward to rebounding from the loss she had two years ago. Now, it will be interesting to see which one of these women prevails when they face each other on August 12 later this year.
