Kamaru Usman Underwent Hand Surgery, Might Return at UFC 276

UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman recently underwent hand surgery in order to repair a ligament in his right hand.

UFC President Dana White himself confirmed this news by sharing a tweet. He posted a before and after picture of Kamaru Usman’s right-hand ligament.

Ali Abdelaziz, Usman’s manager, confirmed to ESPN that the Welterweight champion is targeting to return inside the octagon in July. If this happens, fans might see him defending his title at UFC 276 in International Fight week. Leon Edwards is currently slated as the next contender to face Usman for the title as per UFC President Dana White.

Kamaru Usman has been holding the UFC Welterweight championship since 2019. He won the belt by defeating Tyron Woodley at UFC 235. His last fight took place in November at UFC 268 where he defeated Colby Covington via unanimous decision for the second time. Before him, Usman also defeated Jorge Masvidal(twice) and Gilbert Burns.

Now, fans are hoping for the quick recovery of the Welterweight king so that they can see him in action soon.
