A key heavyweight bout has been added to the match card of the UFC 279 PPV event.

According to the latest reports, Chris Barnett will collide against Jake Collier in a three-round heavyweight bout on September 10 at the pay-per-view event.

The bout was initially listed on ESPN’s online MMA schedule, after that, it has been confirmed by several sources.

Chris Barnett lost two out of his three UFC bouts. He made his promotional debut against Ben Rothwell and failed to make an impression. He rebounded from this loss by stopping Gian Villante in the second round at UFC 268. However, he lost his most recent bout against Martin Buday via technical decision.

On the other hand, Jake Collier has been maintaining a pattern of alternate losses and wins ever since he made his UFC debut in 2014. He started his UFC career with a loss, then he won a fight but then he lost again. He is coming off a split decision loss against Andrei Arlovski.

Chris Barnett will certainly try to get back on the winning track and disrupt the pattern of Collier. However, the latter will give his best to maintain his alternate win-loss record.

UFC 279 will be headlined by Khamzat Chimaev vs Nate Diaz and will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
