Israel Adesanya is still the UFC Middleweight Champion as he defeated Jared Cannonier in the main event of UFC 276 via unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 50-45).

Israel Adesanya entered the octagon on The Undertaker’s theme music. He even carried the vessel that the late great Paul Bearer used to carry.

The first started off with leg kicks. Adesanya went for an early head kick but it was blocked by Cannonier. Adesanya managed to connect two quick punches in the middle and a right hand in the closing moments of Round 1.

The champion started off the second round with a head kick, and he exchanged kicks with Cannonier and the latter stumbled. Later, Cannonier connected some kicks and Israel rebounded with a kick and some body punches.

Adesanya started the third round in a similar manner. He delivered some kicks and then went for a head kick. The third round featured some back-and-forth action, and it looked a bit better for Jared Cannonier.

Cannonier kicked off the fourth round with a clean strike. However, Adesanya returned the favor with a clean punch of his own. In the closing moments of the fourth round, Cannonier was the one who missed the head kick.

The fifth round started with an exchange of punches. The last round also featured back-and-forth action with both men connecting their strikes. In the last few seconds, Adesanya connected a leg kick and then the horn blew.

After the match, it was announced that Israel Adesanya is still the UFC Middleweight Champion. Dana White asked Adesanya who he wants to face next, and Israel responded by saying he wants the toughest guy and hinted that his next title defense would be against Alex Pereira.
