Dominick Reyes is set to step inside the octagon after more than a year against Ryan Spann in a light heavyweight bout at UFC 281.
MMA Junkie reported the matchup which was later confirmed by several sources. According to these sources, Dominick Reyes vs Ryan Spann will indeed be a part of UFC 281 at the Madison Square Garden.
Dominick Reyes registered the first loss of his MMA career against Jon Jones in February 2020. After this match, he lost two back-to-back matches against Jan Blachowicz and Jiri Prochazka. Currently, he is on a three-fight losing streak and hasn’t competed since his KO loss against Prochazka.
On the other hand, Ryan Spann is an emerging fighter who has lost only twice. Johnny Walker gave his first loss, whereas his second loss was provided by Anthony Smith. Spann is coming off a first-round submission victory against Ion Cutelaba. He also won the Performance of the Night reward for this bout.
Reyes must be looking forward to rebounding from his back-to-back losses whereas Spann will try to make a name for himself in the light-heavyweight division of UFC by defeating Reyes.
UFC 281 will take place at the Madison Square Garden on November 12, 2022, and will be headlined by Israel Adesanya vs Alex Pereira Middleweight title bout.
