Gilbert Burns vs Khamzat Chimaev Might Happen at UFC 273

Khamzat Chimaev might finally get a high-profile fight in the form of Gilbert Burns at UFC 273 on April 9 later this year. 

Khamzat Chimaev is still undefeated in the UFC and won all ten of his bouts. Now, he has his eyes set on the Welterweight title but is yet to get a title shot. 

However, he will likely reserve his title bout against the champion if he manages to defeat the former title challenger Gilbert Burns. 

Initially, the reports revealed that the bout is scheduled for UFC 274, but now Raphael Marhino of Combate reported that there is a change of plans, and now the bout is rescheduled to UFC 273.

Khamzat Chimaev is coming off a dominant victory against Li Jingliang. He defeated the latter via technical submission at UFC 267. 

On the other hand, Gilbert Burns lost the Welterweight title bout to Kamaru Usman at UFC 258. However, he bounced back in his last bout as he defeated Stephen Thompson at UFC 268. 

If everything goes well, the fans might see Khamzat Chimaev getting one step closer to facing the Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman.
