Blake Bilder’s UFC Debut Set at UFC 284 against Shane Young
Blake Bilder will make his UFC debut against Shane Young in a featherweight bout at UFC 284 PPV in Australia.
Former Cage Fury Featherweight Champion Bilder signed with UFC after beating Alex Morgan in Dana White Contender Series this year in August.
The report of his promotional bout comes from MMA Fighting’s Mike Heck and Eurosport’s Marcel Dorff. Shane Young will return to the octagon for the first time since March 2021.
Young lost to Omar Morales at UFC 260 which came after a loss to Ľudovít Klein at UFC 253. Young’s UFC career also started with a loss to current Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski in 2017. He followed it up with wins over Rolando Dy(vai TKO) and Austin Arnett(via unanimous decision). His record stands at 2-3 in UFC and 13-6 overall.
Blake Bilder remains undefeated in his eight bouts so far with 7 wins and 1 draw. He made his CFFC debut last December when he won promotion’s 145 lbs title by beating Frank Buenafuente. He successfully retained the title by defeating Regivaldo Carvalho in April before appearing in DWCS 2022.
UFC 284 takes place on February 11, 2023, at RAC Arena in Perth, Australia. The event will see Islam Makhachev defend UFC Lightweight Championship against reigning Featherweight titleholder Alexander Volkanovski in the headliner.
The event will see also see Josh Emmett vs Yair Rodriguez in the co-main event for the interim featherwieght title.
