Josh Taylor vs Jack Catterall Postponed After Taylor’s Injury
The rematch between Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall for the WBO junior welterweight title has been postponed once again.
Mike Coppinger of ESPN has reported that Josh Taylor has suffered a torn plantar fascia. This injured foot will likely take at least 6-12 weeks to heal.
As a result, Josh Taylor vs Jack Catterall‘s junior welterweight title bout will be postponed. There was talk of their rematch ever since Josh Taylor escaped with a controversial split decision victory to retain his undisputed junior welterweight titles.
Initially, this rematch was targeted to take place last year in November. However, the negotiations stalled the bout. After this, the rematch was scheduled for February 4, 2023, but was postponed again due to a scheduling decision by Sky Sports.
The network then locked the bout for March 4, but now the fans will likely have to wait for three more months to see this rematch.
The new date for this bout hasn’t been revealed yet, but it will likely come after Josh Taylor gets a recovery schedule.
