According to the latest reports, Emmanuel Navarrete will square off against Oscar Valdez for the vacant WBO junior lightweight title on February 3.
ESPN confirmed that Navarrete vs Valdez will serve as the main event of the February 3, 2023 event, which will also feature Jose Pedraza vs Arnold Barboza Jr.
Shakur Stevenson vacated the 130lb WBO title as he failed to make the weight ahead of his fight against Robson Conceicao.
Navarrete only lost one match in his professional career, and that too ten years back in 2012. He is coming off a 6th round KO victory against Eduardo Baez. Before that, he defeated the likes of Joet Gonzalez, Christopher Diaz, and Ruben Villa.
On the other hand, Oscar Valdez Jr 23 fights winning streak was recently snapped by Shakur Stevenson. He lost the WBC super featherweight title in this bout. Valdez Jr last win came against Robson Conceicao.
Oscar Valdez Jr will be looking to rebound from his previous loss by winning the vacant WBO junior lightweight title. Meanwhile, Navarrete will try to add one more feather to his cap by winning the belt on February 3, 2023.
