Canelo Alvarez vs John Ryder Set for May 6 in Mexico
The homecoming fight for Canelo Alvarez is officially announced.
The undisputed middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez is all set to defend his titles against John Ryder at the Akron Stadium in Guadalajara, Mexico on May 6.
The bout will serve as the main event of a DAZN PPV. It will be broadcasted on pay-per-views in the US and on DAZN in Canada.
Canelo Alvarez also released a statement where he stated that he is very happy to come back in May as he was unsure when he would return after his surgery. He also added that fighting in the place where he comes from makes him very happy.
Alvarez recently rebounded from his loss against Dmitry Bivol with a win against Gennady Golovkin. He tried to capture the WBA light heavyweight title but failed.
On the other hand, John Ryder is on a four-fight winning streak and is coming off a win against Zach Parker.
Now, on May 6, John Ryder will be stepping into the territory of his enemy trying to pull off the biggest upset of his career.
