NXT will move to USA from September this year

NXT will start to air its weekly episodes on USA network from 18 September on every Wednesday from 8 PM-10 PM ET. The show will air from its home base in Full Sail Live in Winter Park, FL. WWE’s developmental brand is set to go on a rating war against AEW’s weekly TV show which starts from 2 October on TNT network.

However, now WWE has announced that the NXT will have to wait for two weeks for the first two-hour show on USA Network. For the episodes of 18 & 25 September, NXT will air its first hour on USA Network but will switch to WWE Network for the second hour. From 2 October onwards, the same night that AEW premieres their weekly show, NXT will start airing for complete two hours on the USA.

There’s no word yet on why the first two weeks are being split between the USA Network and the WWE Network, but we will keep you updated. This appears to be a recent change in plans as the original press release on NXT moving to USA Network stated that the two-hour show would begin airing on USA Network with the September 18 episode.

Currently, NXT use to be a WWE Network exclusive show, airing for 1 hour each Wednesday between 8-9 PM ET. As it will move to USA Network from 18 September, the show will still become available on WWE Network but from Thursday nights.

WWE has announced the below matches NXT’s USA debut on 18 September:

  • Velveteen Dream vs Roderick Strong – NXT North American Championship Match
  • Io Shirai vs Bianca Belair vs Mia Yim – #1 contender match for NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler
