WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs 2009 PPV was the first pay-per-view event under the TLC series. This was a dual-brand PPV with both RAW and SmackDown’s side of matches taking place on the event. The event gets its name from the Tables, Ladders & Chairs match which is the main event for every PPV of this series. The 2009 PPV was main evented by D-Generation X challenging JeriShow for the unified WWE Tag Team Championship.

Other gimmick matches on the show were: Tables match between John Cena and Sheamus for the WWE Championship, Ladder match between Christian and Shelton Benjamin for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, and Chairs match between The Undertaker and Batista for World Heavyweight Championship.

The show was received positively by the fans and also had favorable reviews from critics. It ended up getting 228,000 PPV buys.
