Welcome to the live blog for WWE RAW 9 August 2021 episode. WWE has advertised two segments for the show. Lashley will address his SummerSlam opponent Goldberg. Charlotte Flair will respond to her loss to Nikki ASH from last week’s show. John Cena is also advertised but WWE has not announced a segment for him. More action is expected from Amway Center in Orlando, FL as WWE looks to build up towards SummerSlam 2021. Read more on this in our preview here.

Randy Orton Returns

Randy Orton comes out to open the show. This is his first appearance in RAW since the crowd is back. He is clearly glad to be in front of the crowd. Orton gets in the ring and takes in the adulation from the crowd. Orton welcomes us to the Monday Night RAW. Riddle’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring.

Riddle says he was wondering why Orton was gone for this long. Riddle says his step-dad also left like this 24 years ago and never came back. RK-Bro chants go up from the crowd. Riddle starts cheering Randy and the crowd also join in. Randy asks him why would he want to team up with him again. Orton adds that he works better alone and Riddle was also doing fine just by himself. More RK-Bro chants but Randy does not want to be a team.

AJ Styles’ music hits and he comes out with Omos. AJ takes shots at Orton and tells Riddle that Orton has used and abused everyone of his tag team. Orton says he has been seeing AJ run his mouth for seven weeks from home and wants him to shut up. AJ ends up challenging Orton for a match later tonight. Orton accepts the challenge and says he will defeat AJ with 3 most destructive letters in sports entertainment. He goes to hit RKO to AJ but AJ avoids it and rolls to the floor. Orton tries to hit RKO on Omos but he also counters it.

Orton manages to escape Omos and rolls to the floor. Riddle attempts the same thing but Omos catches him and hits him with a chokeslam. Riddle rolls out to the floor to Orton. Orton tells him it was not a good move. Orton leaves Riddle on the floor and leaves.

Drew McIntyre vs Baron Corbin

Corbin is backstage and says he is paid by Jinder Mahal to face McIntyre tonight. He is desperate for money and had to accept. We cut to the break as Corbin makes his entrance.

McIntyre says Jinder and his goons are afraid of him as due to brings out his sword. McIntyre recalls how Corbin once bragged that he looted a homeless man and stole his dog. Sp, McIntyre has no sympathy for him. McIntyre tells us his sword is named after his mother and goes on to tell a story about her. McIntyre makes his entrance for the match.

The bell rings and Corbin tries to bait McIntyre into an attack. McIntyre ducks his charge and hits chops in the corner. A big tackle from McIntyre to bring down Corbin. Drew whips him from corner to corner before hitting a suplex. Corbin is thrown to the floor. Drew hits a chop over the announce table. Corbin hits a big uppercut and slams Drew against the apron.

Back to the ring, Corbin hits more punches. Drew rolls out to the floor. Corbin charges at him but he runs into a belly to belly suplex, crashing into the barricade. We cut to a break.

Corbin is unloading on McIntyre on the top turnbuckle as we return. Corbin hits a superplex for a near fall. Drew hits Glasgow kiss headbutt and both men are down. McIntyre unloads with punches. Another belly to belly suplex after a couple of clotheslines. Drew gets ready for Claymore after hitting future shock DDT and a neck breaker.

Corbin begs him to leave him. Drew takes the mic and asks him how much money would he need to get a meal for a few days, and other things to get by. Corbin asks for a $100,000. Drew asks the crowd why not to give him $200,000 or $300,000. Drew catches Corbin with a Claymore as he gets back to his feet.

Winner – Drew McIntyre

After the match, Drew celebrates as his music hits. Jinder Mahal, Veer and Shanky come out. They approach the ring but Drew bring out his sword and they turn back immediately.

Riddle catches up with Randy Orton backstage. Riddle says if they can be friends even if Orton does not want to team up with him. Riddle says how he has wearing an RKBro shirt and has ordered a scooter for him. Orton denies. Riddle asks him to atleast accompany him for his match against AJ. Orton tells him no again.

Jeff Hardy vs Karrion Kross

Jeff Hardy makes his way out for the match against Karrion Kross. We cut to a break.

After the break, we see Hardy wrapping up his entrance. We get a pre-recorded promo from Kross where he talks about how Hardy robbed him of a win on his RAW debut. He will make him pay. Kross makes his entrance.

Hardy starts with a barrage of punches as the bell ring. Kross runs him over with a big boot. Kross beats around Hardy for a while. Hardy rolls out to the floor and sends him into the steel steps. Hardy jumps from steel steps to hit a clothesline. Hardy brings him back to the ring. Hardy goes to the top and Kross brings him down.

Kross and Hardy are trading strikes as we return. Hardy hits a DDT. The crowd cheers him but Kross hits a big boot. Hardy fights back and hits an inverted atomic drop and leg drops for a two-count. Hardy with big boots in the corner. Hardy hits a splash from the second rope for a two-count. Kross comes back with a big elbow.

Hardy hits the jawbreaker and tries to use the tights for leverage. Kross avoids the pin. Hardy goes for the Twist of Fate. Kross counters and hits Saito Suplex. Kross puts on the Kross Jacket Submission and Hardy taps out.

Winner – Karrion Kross

After the match, Kross hits another Saito suplex and puts on the submission move once again to put Hardy to sleep. The crowd chants “You Suck” at him.

Alexa Bliss vs Doudrop

We see the replay from last week how Tamina defeated Doudrop and Alexa Bliss mocked Eva Marie and Doudrop. Doudrop attacked Bliss in her playground later and threw away Lilly the Doll. Lilly stood up by itself after a while. Alexa Bliss makes her entrance for the match. We cut to a break.

Doudrop comes out with Eva Marie. Bliss has placed Lilly on top of one of the corners. Eva also wants to sit on another turnbuckle and it took some time for the referee to send him out.

Alexa hits sidekicks to start. Doudrop pushes her away. Bliss does the spiderman style crawl to scare Doudrop. She gets on Doudrop’s back. Doudrop drops her to the mat. Alexa hits some quick moves to get the control. Bliss goes to the floor and wants to put Eva Marie in hypnotism. Doudrop runs her over. Doudrop sends Alexa into the barricade now. Doudrop takes her back to the ring and tosses her around for a while.

Doudrop mocks Bliss and plays with the crowd. She turns around and Lilly’s eyes lit up. Doudrop turns around to a roll-up from Alexa who gets the pin.

Winner – Alexa Bliss

After the match, Eva is angry at Doudrop for the loss. She smacks Doudrop who tries to explain what happened. Bliss plays with Lilly in the ring.

Backstage segment with John Morrison and The Miz. They mock Damian Priest until Sheamus rolls up. Sheamus is pissed at Morrison for costing match to Damian Priest. Some tense moments between them before Miz makes the peace.

Sheamus vs Ricochet

Sheamus enters for the match as we cut to the break. Ricochet enters after the break.

The bell hits and they trade holds. Sheamus sends Ricochet to the mat. They lock up again and break. Ricochet with big punches. Sheamus turns it around and beats Ricochet around, then slams him to the mat. Sheamus levels Ricochet with a shoulder next. Ricochet runs the ropes and hits a scissors takedown. Ricochet keeps control and Sheamus retreats to the floor for a breather as the referee counts

Sheamus returns to the ring and takes back the control. Ricochet tries to fight back but Sheamus rocks him and hits a body slam. Ricochet hits a knee to the face and then avoids a slam. Sheamus goes for the Brogue kick but Ricochet ducks it. Sheamus ends up on the floor. Ricochet hits a basement slide dropkick. Ricochet hits a crossbody that takes both of them over the announce table.

Ricochet is fighting back as we return. Sheamus hits a backbreaker. Sheamus shouts at the crowd. Sheamus grabs on the shoulder. Ricochet gets to his feet and starts to hit back elbows to Sheamus’ face. Ricochet manages to throw Sheamus out of the ring. Sheamus gets back to the apron and Ricochet rocks him with a big punch. Sheamus gets on the top of turnbuckle and Ricochet hits a kick there. Ricochet takes him down with headscissors. Ricochet with a clothesline from the top and a springboard moonsault for a near fall.

Sheamus charges at him in the corner. Ricochet goes for a flying headbutt but the mask helps him. Sheamus gets the pin after hitting the Brogue kick.

Winner – Sheamus

After the match, Sheamus celebrates. Damian Priest comes out to the ring now and stands face to face with Sheamus. Sheamus also gets in his face before leaving to the apron. Priest poses for the crowd. Sheamus tries to sneak up on him but Priest sends him to the floor. Sheamus is pissed off again. John Morrison makes his entrance with The Miz.

Damian Priest vs John Morrison

Back from the break and the bell rings as Priest takes Morrison down by his arm to start. Morrison fights Priest off but Priest launches him in the corner, unloading with big lefts and rights. Priest taunts Miz at ringside. Morrison cuts Priest off with a big kick to drop him. Morrison with a sliding knee for a quick pin attempt. Morrison mounts Priest with elbow strikes as Miz cheers him on.

Morrison puts on a submission move as he keeps Priest grounded. Priest slams him with some kicks on the ground. Priest with big strikes and a clothesline to bring down Morrison. Morrison avoids a big move. They avoid each other’s moves multiple times before they catch each other with kicks. Bith men are down. Damian is sent to the floor as he gets up. Morrison hits a kick and then a crossbody on the floor. Morrison hits a Pele kick on the apron. Priest catches him with a kick to counter a springboard. The Miz sprays him with the drip stick but Priest hits the Reckoning to get the pin.

Winner – Damian Priest

After the match, Priest goes to ringside and threatens The Miz. Morrison tries to make the save but Priest drops him with a clothesline. Priest grabs a Drip Stick from Miz, then sprays it at Morrison while he’s down. Priest grabs Miz by his tie and Miz jumps up out of his wheelchair, showing that he’s not really injured. Everyone is shocked. Miz ends up running away to the back, leaving Morrison down at ringside.

Priest stands tall in the ring and takes the mic now. Priest starts to address Sheamus and Sheamus comes out to the stage with a mic, telling Priest to say what he has to say to his face. Priest calls Sheamus a bully and says he will deal with him. But he wants Sheamus at SummerSlam with the title on the line. Sheamus says he might be a bully but he will put Priest in his place. Sheamus accepts and calls Priest to be ready for the fight of his life. Morrison tries to attack Priest from behind but Priest levels him with a big kick. Priest says that’s going to be Sheamus at SummerSlam. Priest’s music starts back up as he poses in the corner.

Mustafa Ali(w/ Mansoor) vs T-Bar(w/ Mace)

T-Bar tosses Ali to the corner as we start. Ali is whipped from corner to corner and hits a back body drop. Ali ducks a clothesline and hits a dropkick to send T-Bar out to the floor. T-Bar catches Ali ins a crossbody dive and slams him to the barricade. T-Bar hits a big boot. Ali avoids a move but T-Bar hits a backbreaker. Ali gets his boot on the ropes to break the pin.

Ali rolls up T-Bar for a two-count. Ali hits a Tornado DDT next. Ali goes to the top but T-Bar trips him. T-Bar brings him down and hits a big boot to

Winner – T-Bar

Mace enters the ring and was looking for double chokeslam with T-Bar. Mansoor hits the ring to make the save. Mansoor clears the ring. Ali and Mansoor stand tall.

We see 24/7 Champion Reginald doing a photoshoot in the back. Akira Tozawa appears disguised as a delivery man. He attacks and rolls Reggie up for 2 but R-Truth, also disguised as a janitor, runs in to breaks the pin. Reggie flips around and avoids both challengers. Truth says Reggie is on Xbox mode. Tozawa and Truth argue as Reggie runs away out of the door.

Lashley Calls Out Goldberg

WWE Champion Bobby Lashley makes his entrance with MVP. We get a recap of last week for what happened between Goldberg and them last week. MVP asks the crowd to show proper respect to Lashley. He talks about the SummerSlam match. MVP says Goldberg was looking for a reason to pick a fight and that’s why he lied that MVP was threatening his son. MVP says he and Lashley have sons of their own and they would never do such a thing.

MVP was telling Gage to dissuade his father of withdrawing from this match which will end his career. MVP talks about getting speared by Goldberg and says it was like getting hit by a Mack truck. He has bruised and cracked ribs. If Goldberg wants to bring his son into this, he is gonna beg Gage directly to make sure his father doesn’t come to SummerSlam. Because if he does, Lashley will end his career. Now, Lashley calls out Goldberg out and tells him not to let his son watch SummerSlam, because the destruction would be so bad that he would not want to share the last name.

We see a vignete for Elias. He is on the ground somewhere with his guitar. He recalls getting smacked by guitar by many WWE superstars. Elias strums the guitar for one last time before throwing it in fire.

Nikki ASH vs Rhea Ripley

Rhea Ripley with offense early on. Nikki counters and takes Ripley down with a headlock. Nikki keeps control and takes Ripley down with another headlock from the corner. Ripley powers out and slams Nikki face-first into the mat.

Ripley kicks Nikki in the ribs now, sending her to the corner. Ripley with a big thrust in the corner. Ripley drops Nikki in the corner and keeps control. Ripley launches Nikki across the ring by her hair now. The referee warns Ripley about the hair as she keeps control. Ripley launches Nikki into the turnbuckles and she goes back down.

Ripley dumps Nikki out to the floor. She follows but Nikki fights her off. Nikki charges and Ripley drops her face-first into the edge of the apron. The referee counts as Ripley stands tall at ringside. Back to commercial.

Back from the break and Ripley man-handles Nikki on the mat. Ripley keeps control until Nikki finally counters mid-move and spikes Ripley into the mat with a big DDT. Nikki gets up first and rocks Ripley with forearms. Ripley counters with a sideslam attempt but it’s countered as Nikki mounts more offense. Nikki with a close 2 count. Ripley goes right back to work on the injured ribs.

Nikki counters the Riptide and falls on Ripley for a 2 count. Ripley with lefts and rights in the corner now. Ripley takes Nikki to the top and works her over. Ripley climbs up but wastes some time. Nikki blocks the superplex and knocks Ripley to the mat with a right hand. Nikki stands up on the top but Charlotte Flair appears out of nowhere, hitting the apron and shoving Nikki to the mat for the disqualification.

Winner – Nikki ASH(by DQ)

Flair enters the ring as the boos get louder. Flair drops Nikki and kips up. Flair then drops Ripley with Natural Selection as a dazed Ripley was trying to get up from her knees. Flair marches around the ring with the title belt in the air as the boos continue. Flair stands tall as her music starts up. She drops the strap on Nikki and makes her exit.

Randy Orton vs AJ Styles

Orton starts with big right hands, knocking AJ into the corner. AJ finally fights back with chops out of a corner. AJ slides under an attack but Orton uppercuts him. AJ tries to fight back but Orton levels him.

Orton avoids a basement slide and drops AJ on the ropes. Orton works on AJ a bit more before sending him to the floor. He goes to drop AJ on the announce table but gets distracted by Omos for a bit. Orton sends him back to the ring. Omos headbutts him while the referee checks on AJ. AJ kicks at Orton on the floor. We cut to the break as AJ dominates Orton.

AJ rocks Orton as we return. AJ hits a low clothesline and a forearm. AJ puts on a chinlock now. Orton gets to his feet and headbutts AJ. They start to trade strikes now. Orton ends up hitting his signature powerslam to get a two-count. Orton with a backbreaker now to get another two-count. Orton puts AJ on the top turnbuckle, looking for a superplex. AJ slips out and slams Orton into the turnbuckle. AJ rolls him into the calf crusher. Orton reaches the ropes to break the submission.

AJ goes for the phenomenal forearm but Orton runs him over with a clothesline on the apron. Orton hits a draping DDT now. Orton gets ready for RKO before he engages with Omos in a verbal spat. AJ takes advantage to take Orton down.

Riddle appears out of nowhere at ringside, shoving Omos into the ring post and then jumping on his back for the Sleeper. Omos eventually slams Riddle to the floor at ringside. AJ springboards in with the Phenomenal Forearm but Orton catches him in mid-air with the RKO for the pin to win.

Winner – Randy Orton

After the match, Orton stands tall as the music hits. We go to replays. Riddle is in the ring now, wanting a hug from Orton. Fans cheer them on. Orton is hyped up but not necessarily thrilled with Riddle. Riddle tells Orton to listen to the fans. They finally hug and fans go wild. R-K-Bro is back. Orton hesitates some and tries to not show a ton of excitement but he raises Riddle’s arm as the pops continue from the crowd. Orton then drops Riddle out of nowhere with the RKO. Orton stands back up to a mixed reaction as RAW goes off the air with Riddle laid out.
