SmackDown Tag Team Title Match Confirmed for WWE Day 1
This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown confirmed that The Usos will defend their tag-team belts against The New Day at WWE Day 1.
Kofi Kingston made his return on tonight’s episode before the King Woods match against Jey Uso. Kofi Kingston has been away from the action as he welcomed his third child. However, in the storylines, his absence was explained by an injury that took place after an attack by the Bloodline.
Woods vs Jey Uso ended up in a DQ as Jimmy interfered in the match from the ringside. After that, Kingston and Woods attacked Jimmy Uso. However, his brother pulled him out of the ring and made the save.
Later, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods announced that they will face The Usos for SmackDown Tag Team Championship at WWE Day 1 PPV event.
The event will air live from State Farm Arena in Atlanta on January 1, 2022, and will be headlined by the Universal Championship match between the Head of the Table, Roman Reigns and the Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar.
