North American & Women’s Championship Matches Announced for NXT 11 May Episode

NXT has announced NXT Women’s Championship and North American Championship match for NXT episode of 11 May 2021.

Recently crowned NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez will defend her for the first time against Mercedes Martinez. This week’s NXT episode saw Martinez taking on Dakota Kai in a singles match. Martinez wanted to take Kai out of the way before facing Gonzalez.

However, Gonzalez interfered in the match just as Martinez was about to put Kai away. Gonzalez continued with a post-match beat down on Martinez and stood tall over her to end the segment. NXT then announced Gonzalez vs Martinez for 11 May episode of NXT.

Bronson Reed will get another shot at NXT North American Title in two weeks time. Reed faced Austin Theory with the stipulation that he will get a title shot if he manages to beat Theory.

Reed won the Eliminator Gauntlet match on NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver Night 1 to become #1 contender for the North American title. He faced the champion Johnny Gargano on Night 2 of the event but lost the match after some interference from Gargano.
