Former WWE Intercontinental Champion and current wrestling coach, Lance Storm has revealed that he will be joining WWE as a backstage producer at the start of next year.

Lance Storm currently operates his Storm Wrestling Academy in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Started in 2005, Storm will be closing the academy by the end of this year. In the search for his next assignment, Storm even had a trial run with Impact Wrestling in March this year.

Yesterday, Lance Storm took to Twitter to announce that he will be joining WWE after the closure of his academy. He tweeted, “For those wondering: After SWA closes I will be returning to the #WWE to work as a Producer. I’m really looking forward to working with such a high level of talent again.”

Having started his career in 1995 in the independent circuit, Storm’s first major breakthrough was to work with ECW from 1996 to 2000. He later joined WCW in 2000 and was retained by WWE when the company took over WCW in 2001. He held WCW United States Champion 3 times during his run apart from the WCW Cruiserweight Championship and Hardcore Championship once each.

Storm wrestled for WWE from 2001 until 2005 and won the WWE Intercontinental Champion one time. He also went on to become the WWE/World Tag Team Champion on four different occasions- with Christian(1 time), William Regal(2 times) and Cheif Morley(1 time).

Upon his return to WWE, he will not only be working with former friends from his time in wrestling, but also with some wrestlers who he has coached like Tyler Breeze, Oney Lorcan, and Peyton Royce. He was also associated with Tenille Dashwood, Chelsea Green, and Taya Valkyrie. Rey Mysterio also revealed that his son Dominic had training with Lance Storm in late 2018.
