Hangman Returns to The Elite, Anarchy in The Arena Set vs BCC
As expected, The Elite and Blackpool Combat Club are set to clash in Anarchy in the Arena match at AEW Double or Nothing 2023.
Kenny Omega came out to confront Don Callis on Dynamite this week(May 17) and started brawling with the security. All 4 men from BCC attacked Omega on the stage. The Young Bucks were earlier attacked by them in the parking lot. Jon Moxley was mocking Omega as he recovered on the stage, telling him to stand down.
The Young Bucks came out to the stage with a bunch of weapons. But, The Elite were still 3 vs 4 against BCC. That situation was also corrected as Hangman Adam Page(with an eye patch) came out to stand with The Elite. The Elite then attacked BCC and forced them to run away. Hangman Page then screamed to BCC that they are the heart and soul of AEW and they are The Elite and then announced Anarchy in the Arena match for Double or Nothing 2023.
This is going to be the second Anarchy in the Arena match. Jericho Appreciation Society defeated Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Eddie Kingston, Santana and Ortiz in the first Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing 2022. The match replaced the Stadium Stampede match in prior years.
Hangman Page has rejoined The Elite for the first time since 2020 when he was ousted due to issues with Omega. A reconciliation was teased last year before the inaugural AEW Trios Championship when The Young Bucks asked Page to partner with them. However, Page chose to remain loyal to Dark Order in the tournament. This later led to return of Kenny Omega to partner with The Young Bucks, leading to the Elite becoming the inaugural trios titles.
The storyline between the Elite and BCC started back on April 5 Dynamite episode when BCC attacked The Young Bucks. Page had to save Omega from another attack from BCC later on in that show. Don Callis, though, tried to create a rift between Page and Omega. BCC took out Page by attacking him with a screwdriver.
The Elite hit back a few weeks later, leading to a steel cage match between Omega and Moxley. Don Callis turned on Omega during that match by hitting him with a screwdriver, allowing Moxley to get win over Omega.
