Update on Second Elimination Chamber Match This Year

WWE Elimination Chamber 2021 New Poster

Apparently, WWE is planning to put WWE Universal Championship on the line in the second Elimination Chamber match this year’s namesake PPV.

WWE released the promotional poster for Elimination Chamber 2021 PPV this week. The poster featured both WWE Champion Drew McIntyre and WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. This was believed as the first hint that WWE is planning Universal Championship inside the Chamber.

Now the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the plan as of this week was to have Roman Reigns defend his title inside the Chamber structure. There is no word yet on who the SmackDown Chamber participants will be, but Kevin Owens is a likely participant. Daniel Bryan, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura are also possible.

WON reported that WWE Hall of Famer Edge vs Roman Reigns is the plan for WrestleMania 37. So, it’s possible that WWE has Edge face the winner of the Chamber match for the Universal Title at WrestleMania, which is most likely to be Roman itself.

Earlier, another report suggested that WWE has no plans for a women’s Elimination Chamber match this year. The Wrestling Observer also noted that as of midweek, people in and outside of WWE creative indicated that there would not be a women’s match inside the Chamber structure.

Elimination Chamber 2021 takes place on 21 February 2021 from WWE ThunderDome at Tropicana Field, St. Petersburg, FL. Three matches are announced for the show till now including Elimination Chamber match for WWE Championship.
