Cody Rhodes returns to WWE after six years and puts on a classic with Seth Freaking Rollins who was desperate to get a match at WrestleMania 38.
The American Nightmare earned a hard-fought victory as Seth Rollins was hellbent on spoiling the return of Cody Rhodes. Both the wrestlers put up the best match of the night so far, and the crowd was behind Cody Rhodes all the time.
The match was filled with several jaw-dropping moments including Seth Rollins powerbombing Cody through the barricade, his reverse superplex from the top rope, and pedigree. Meanwhile, the Prodigal displayed some amazing moves of his own including the Cody Cutter which ended up in a near fall.
In the ending moments of this classic match, Cody Rhodes hits two consecutive Crossrhodes, and then he pays a tribute to his father Dustin Rhodes by hitting his jabs and bionic elbow. After that, he hit Rollins with the third Crossrhodes to get the pinfall in his returning match.
Seth Rollins has tried several times to add himself to the card of WrestleMania 38 but failed. He even tried to replace AJ Styles and Kevin Owens from their match and segments at the grandest stage of them all.
After being left with no hope, Seth Rollins announced that he would hold Raw hostage until he gets a WrestleMania match. As a result, Vince McMahon called him to his office and revealed that Seth Rollins would be a part of the most stupendous WrestleMania. He chose an opponent for him, and the name would be revealed on the day of the event itself.
