WWE WrestleMania 38: The Usos Retained SmackDown Tag Titles
The Usos kicked off WrestleMania 38 with a win over Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs and retained their SmackDown tag-team titles.
Shinsuke Nakamura started things off with a kick but soon the Usos took control of the match. After a lot of struggle, Nakamura managed to tag Boogs who dominated the Usos. He even delivered a vertical suplex to Jey Uso.
Later, Nakamura kicked out of a superkick followed by the Usos splash. However, the Usos didn’t lose the momentum and then hit Shinsuke Nakamura with 1D to retain their tag-team titles.
After losing his Intercontinental championship, Shinsuke Nakamura returned to the tag-team division along with his partner Rick Boogs. The Usos had attacked Rick Boogs at SmackDown and left him injured.
Bryan Alvarez also reported that the finish to the match was changed as Rick Boogs was legitimately injured during the match. Boogs knee gave in during the match, and hence the finish was improvised.
The Usos have dominated the tag division of SmackDown ever since they became the champions. Nakamura and Boogs challenged the duo for the tag-titles match at the grandest stage of them all. Jey Uso replied with a singles match challenge for Rick Boogs. Boogs defeated Jey Uso to earn the tag team title shot.
The Usos successfully defended the titles, and they are still the longest-reigning SmackDown tag-team champions.
