WWE Women’s Tag Team Title Rematch Set for WWE Crown Jewel 2022
WWE has added WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship rematch to Crown Jewel 2022 event.
Asuka and Alexa Bliss will defend their newly won Women’s Tag Team titles against Damage CTRL’s Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky at the Saudi Arabia event this weekend.
The rivalry between these teams has been going on since August this year when Asuka & Bliss stood with Bianca Belair against Damage CTRL. Kai and Sky defeated Asuka and Bliss in the semifinal match of Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament semifinal match in August. Damage CTRL trio also defeated Belair, Asuka and Bliss at Clash at the Castle.
Damage CTRL then took out Asuka and Bliss last month to stop them from helping out Bianca Belair. Kai and Sky won the Women’s tag titles from Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah at a RAW episode in September. Asuka & Bliss returned to RAW this week to save Bianca Belair from yet another attack from Damage CTRL. They went on to challenge the champions for a title match and defeated them in the main event match to win the titles themselves.
WWE has now announced that the two teams will face off in a rematch at Crown Jewel 2022. The event will take place on November 5, 2022. Bianca Belair will also defend WWE RAW Women’s Championship against Damage CTRL’s leader Bayley on the same night in Last Woman Standing match.
The event has come under threat recently because of reports related to Iran’s attack on Saudi Arabia and US Military bases. However, WWE is expected to carry on with the event with contingency plans and additional security protocols.
