AJ Styles vs Ricochet Match Announced for RAW Tonight
AJ Styles vs Ricochet, the new United States Champion, is announced for the RAW episode tonight on 24 June 2019.
Ricochet overcame the challenge from Samoa Joe in a fun match at Stomping Grounds to win the WWE US Title. You can read more about the match here. After his win, many other WWE wrestlers, like Seth Rollins, Charlotte Flair, Carmella, and Heavy Machinery, lined up to congratulate him at the Gorilla position. Triple H also embraced him to signify that a major push is coming for him in the near future.
And soon enough, we came to know that Ricochet will enter a feud with AJ Styles. As Ricochet was at the new titleholder’s photoshoot, AJ Styles, flanked by his Club partners Gallows and Anderson, joined him. While leaving after a short interaction, Styles told Ricochet that he will see him at RAW. Now, WWE has announced that Ricochet will face AJ Styles at RAW tonight in a non-title match.
After making his main roster debut in February 2019, Ricochet worked with Aleister Black in a tag team and was involved in the Tag Team Championship matches for RAW and SmackDown titles respectively at Fastlane and WrestleMania this year. However, they could not win either of the titles during the timeframe. After their split during the Superstar Shakeup, Ricochet started working as the singles competitor again.
He received his first singles title shot at Stomping Grounds after winning the fatal 5-way no. 1 contender’s match at RAW last week. And in his first attempt itself, he managed to win the United States Championship. Now, a program with AJ Styles is sure to take his stature up a few notches definitely.
