AEW Rampage Results & Live Updates November 18, 2022

Welcome to the live results blog for AEW Rampage episode of November 18, 2022, which will be the go-home episode for Full Gear 2022 PPV.

Ricky Starks and Lance Archer will clash in World Title Eliminator tournament round 1 match. The winner will later go on to face Brain Cage at Full Gear pre-show. Hook will defend FTW Championship against Lee Moriarty.

Athena will return to TV after a stint on Dark and Dark Elevation as she faces Madison Rayne. Eddie Kingston will get his dream match as he faces Jun Akiyama in a tag team match where Ortiz will be in side and Konosuke Takeshita will be on the other side.

Ricky Starks defeated Lance Archer in World Title Eliminator Tournament Round 1 match via pinfall.
Hook(c) defeated Lee Moriarty in a singles match via submission to retain FTW Championship.
Athena defeated Madison Rayne in a singles match via pinfall.
Jun Akiyama & Konosuke Takeshita defeated Eddie Kingston & Ortiz in a tag team match via pinfall.

Live Updates

Ricky Starks vs Lance Archer – World Title Eliminator Tournament Round 1 match

The show opens with Archer choking out Starks backstage. Starks fights back and throws Archer in production trunks. They continue to brawl into the crowd, going back and forth. They get to ringside where steel steps are broken up. They finally get into the ring and the bell rings. Starks sends Archer to the ropes. Archer hits him with a chokeslam on the apron to take us to a break.

Archer is still in control as we return from the break. Starks fights out of Blackout from the top. Starks hits a flying shoulder tackle from the top. Starks runs off the ropes to hit a lariat. Starks goes for a tornado DDT but Archer blocks it and drops Starks with a big lariat for a near fall. Starks hits a tornado DDT in second attempt to get a close two-count. Starks goes for sunset flip but Archer is too big for him. Starks ducks Archer’s swing and hits a couple of punches. Starks runs off the ropes and avoids a tackle from Archer. Starks hits a spear and uses a sunset flip to get the pin.

Winner – Ricky Starks

After the match, Brian Cage comes out to the stage. Starks stares him down from the ringside. Archer blindsides Starks and then drops him on the steel steps with a chokeslam.

We get a video package for Jon Moxley vs MJF match at Full Gear.

Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara are getting interviewed. Jericho says Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli will implode fighting among themselves and Sammy Guevara will also do the right thing to keep him ROH World Champion. Jericho leaves and Sammy smirks at the last line.

Hook(c) vs Lee Moriarty – FTW Championship

They lock up and Hook takes Moriarty to the corner. Moriarty turns it around and hits a back elbow to stun Hook. Hook trips him and works on the leg. Hook hits a waist lock takedown followed by some punches. He hits a bridging suplex to get a two-count. He goes for a submission. Hook hits another suplex. Moriarty comes back with a suplex of his own as we cut to a break.

Hook fights back with punches as we return. He drops Moriarty with a back heel trip before hitting a fishermen’s suplex. Moriarty drops him into the turnbuckle. Moriarty hits a diving knee drop. Moriarty puts on border city stretch. Hook turns over his hips and turns it into Re-Drum to get the submission.

Winner – Hook

John Silver and 10 argue with Rush and Jose the Assistant backstage. Silver mocks Rush for a while until 10 takes offense on something and leaves. Rush tells Silver that he has beaten Silver before and will beat him again.

Athena vs Madison Rayne

Athena hits a dropkick to Rayne’s back. Rayne hits a big boot and drops her to the middle turnbuckle. A pump kick from Athena before they go to the floor. Athena swings around Rayne and slams her into the barricade. Back to the ring, Athena hits a back handspring. Rayne trips her and gets a two-count. Athena goes for a suplex but Rayne counters it with a DDT. Rayne runs her over with clotheslines. Athena counters cross-Rayne with a stunner. She hits a low clothesline before hitting a lungblower to get the pin.

Winner – Athena

Athena continues to kick at Rayne after the match. The referee Audrey Edwards tries to stop her but Athena drops Edwards with a big shot. Athena puts Rayne in a crossface until ROH Women’s Champion Mercedes Martinez comes out.

Orange Cassidy and Best Friends are backstage with The Nightmare Factory. Cassidy says 5 of them will take on 5 of the Factory. QT Marshall tells him that there are just 3 of them. Rocky Romero enters the frame. QT says they are still just 4. Best Friends hand Renee Paqutte a video tape which then gets played on the screen for The Factory. Danhausen appears in the vidoe throwing down broken teeth on the floor.
