Welcome to the live results blog for AEW Dynamite March 8, 2023 episode, which will deal with the fallout of the Revolution 2023 event.

Powerhouse Hobbs, the winner of Face of the Revolution Ladder match from last week’s Dynamite, will challenge TNT Champion Wardlow. Wardlow just won the title at Revolution PPV 3 days back. Orange Cassidy and Jay Lethal will clash in a rubber match with Cassidy’s All Atlantic Championship on the line. Ruby Soho will face AEW Original Skye Blue in a singles match.

Blackpool Combat Club’s Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli will be in tag team action against Dark Order’s John Silver & Alex Reynolds. Chris Jericho will team up with JAS teammates Daniel Garcia & Sammy Guevara to take on AR Fox and Top Flight.

RESULTS

  • Orange Cassidy(c) defeated Jay Lethal in a singles match via pinfall to retain AEW All-Atlantic Championship.
  • Ruby Soho defeated Skye Blue in a singles match via pinfall.
  • Jericho Appreciation Society(Chris Jericho, Daniel Garcia & Sammy Guevara) defeated AR Fox & Top Flight(Darius Martin & Dante Martin) in a tag team match via pinfall.
  • Blackpool Combat Club(Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli) defeated Dark Order(John Silver & Alex Reynolds) in a tag team match via submission.
  • Powerhouse Hobbs defeated Wardlow(c) in a Falls Count Anywhere Match via knockout to win AEW TNT Championship.

LIVE UPDATES

Orange Cassidy(c) vs Jay Lethal – AEW All-Atlantic Championship

All-Atlantic title is opening the show. Orange Cassidy comes out first with Danhausen. Jeff Jarrett, Satnam Singh and Sonjay Dutt are sent back from the stage by the team of referees. Lethal is not happy with the turn of events. Cassidy starts the match with a side headlock. Lethal gets to his feet and Cassidy hits him with a dropkick. Cassidy forces Lethal to roll to the floor in frustration with more quick attacks.

Cassidy chases Lethal, who gets back into the ring and attempts Lethal Injection. Cassidy counters it with ease. This starts a series of counters from both sides which goes on until Cassidy cuts off another Lethal Injection. Lethal moves to the floor. Cassidy sends him into the ring post to hurt his arm. Lethal counters and sends Cassidy into the steel steps.

Lethal catches Cassidy with a dragon screw leg when he was returning to the ring. Lethal plays with the crowd for a while before he whips Cassidy to the floor. He drives Cassidy’s spine into the apron. Lethal drives his knees into the ring post to take us to a break.

Lethal is in control as we return. Cassidy hits a kick at his arm and starts to fire punches. Lethal kicks at his knee. Cassidy goes for a stundog millionaire but Lethal blocks it. Cassidy then hits a brainbuster. He hypes up and ducks corner tackle from Lethal. Cassidy goes to the top now. Lethal attempts an uppercut. Cassidy hits back with punches to drop him back to the mat. Cassidy hits a tornado DDT but hurts his knee. Cassidy hits another DDT to get a close two-count.

Lethal puts on figure four. Cassidy grabs one of his legs but Lethal kicks him and puts more pressure on the lock. Cassidy drags to the ropes to break it. Lethal hits big chops on the apron and Cassidy replies with short clotheslines. He ducks an enzuigiri but Lethal drops him with a kick to his knee. Lethal swipes his leg again but Cassidy gets his knees up on an elbow drop.

Lethal hits an RKO(cutter) to counter an Orange punch for a near fall. Lethal hits a kick to Cassidy’s shin to set up Lethal Injection but he collapses on his shoulders on the springboard. Cassidy hits him with an Orange punch to get the pinfall.

Winner – Orange Cassidy

Lethal grabs the Golden Globe trophy but the referee does not allow him to use it. Cassidy’s attention is towards him and Jeff Jarrett catches him with The Strobe from behind. Jarrett hits a guitar shot on Cassidy’s knee. Best Friends run out and Jarrett runs away.


We get to know that Wardlow’s car was broken into and his ring gear and TNT title was stolen. Powerhouse Hobbs is interview backstage now. Hobbs says there is still one thing left with Wardlow that is being called a champion and he will take that away tonight.


Ricky Starks comes out to the ring. He takes the mic and says he is having a hell of a week in California. Week after Week he has taken down JAS and now people are asking what is next for him. Starks says he is not sure. Bullet Club signs goes up on the screen and Juice Robinson attacks him from behind.


Wardlow is interviewed backstage and is wearing FTR shirt. Wardlow says why not make his match against Hobbs a Falls Count Anywhere match.


Renee Paquette is in the ring and she brings out. Ruby is escorted by Saraya and Toni Storm to the stage. Ruby gets into the ring alone. When asked why she joined Saraya and Toni, Ruby says, “you all created this monster.” Ruby says her first women’s title match was against Britt Baker and fans cheered when she lost. The same thing happened when Kris Statlander in the semifinal of Owen Hart Tournament. Ruby says she realized that no one is going to appreciate her and no one will defend her. She says fans did not welcome Toni and also came after Saraya when she came out of the retirement. Ruby says AEW fans, Tony Khan and everyone give entitlement to these rookies. She asks her opponent to come out now.

Ruby Soho vs Skye Blue

Ruby rushes Skye as she gets into the ring. She sends Skye into the barricade and stomps at her for a few times. Back to the ring, Skye is loopy as the referee checks on her. Ruby hits her with an enzuigiri. Skye hits her with a big slap. Ruby hits her with a Russian Leg Sweep to get a two-count to take us to a break.

Ruby is in control and hits a kick to her face from the apron. Ruby hits a couple of Saito suplexes. She misses a kick in the corner and running kick in the middle. Skye fires back with a few punches. Skye hits a knee underneath the chin but then misses a corner tackle. She still nails a thrust kick and a crossbody off the top. They trade thrust kicks before Ruby pulls Skye’s hair to pull her into Destination Unknown to get the pinfall.

Winner – Ruby Soho

Saraya and Toni Storm bring spray paint can and hand it to Ruby. Ruby was going to paint L on Skye when Willow Nightingale runs out and tries to talk to Ruby. Saraya and Toni drop Willow from behind. They stack Willow and Skye side by side and paint L on them.


Hangman Page is interviewed backstage and talks about his win over Jon Moxley. He says that win should have proved what he can do when someone tries him. He apologizes to Renee for things he had said in the last few weeks and what she had to see on Sunday.


We get a promo from MJF which was recorded after his win over Bryan Danielson at Revolution. He calls himself the Best Wrestler in the World. He tells us that he will have a big birthday celebration next week on Dynamite in Winnipeg.


Tony Schiavone is in the ring and brings out FTR. Huge cheers from the crowd as they come out. Cash says it is good to be back. He points out how they lost several matches and titles before going away and then lost one of their best friends in wrestling. They needed a break. They say The Gunns are the AEW Tag Team Champions but they will take that title away from them.


Jade Cargill is interviewed backstage and lays out an open challenge for next week’s Dynamite.

Jericho Appreciation Society(Chris Jericho, Daniel Garcia & Sammy Guevara) vs AR Fox & Top Flight(Darius Martin & Dante Martin)

Jericho and Fox start the match. Back and forth start before Fox is able to send Jericho to the corner. Fox hits a tope suicida on Jericho on the floor. Jericho runs and hugs Sammy in fear as he tags him. Sammy takes a cheap shot at Fox and sweeps his leg. Jericho and Garcia get into the ring to pose on top of Fox. Darius takes a blind tag and hits Sammy with a gamengiri.

Fox hits him with a DDT. Sammy runs to the corner to hug Garcia now. Top Flight take upper hand against Garcia until he catches Dante with a leg sweep on the apron. We cut to a break.

Dante counters with a DDT on Garcia as we return and tags in Fox. Fox hits quick moves on Garcia and others as they come in. He sends Jericho to the floor and hits double cutter on Sammy and Garcia. Darius comes in and hits a deadlift German suplex to get a two-count. Garcia pulls his hair and tags in Jericho. Darius hits a Spanish fly on Jericho. He follows up with a DDT to get a two-count.

Garcia is thrown to the floor and hit with a suicide dive by Dante. Sammy hits Dante with a kick before Fox is also brought down by other JAS members. Darius runs the ropes and Jake Hager hits him with a baseball bat from the floor. Jericho hits Judas Effect on Darius to get the pinfall.

Winner – Jericho Appreciation Society

After the match, Matt Menard reminds us it is one-year anniversary of JAS. Garcia says it is fitting that JAS now become the #1 contenders for trios titles. Sammy also talk trash before Jericho calls out House of Black to come out. The lights go off but it is the Elite who come out to the stage. Kenny Omega takes the mic and says The Elite have stayed out of Jericho’s lane for the last three years.

Don Callis takes the mic from Omega and continues the promo. He says it is The Elite who established the trios titles and they should be the #1 contenders after the match they had at Revolution. Callis calls Jericho the second best wrestler from Winnipeg. House of Black appear on the screen and Malakai tells both teams that there is no need to fight. The lights go off and House of Black are on the ramp when they come back. Black says both teams can have a title shot next week. The lights go off once again and House of Black are gone.


Tony Khan announces that Orange Cassidy has asked for a match next week against Jeff Jerrett. As All Atlantic Championship is the only title that changed hands on International soil, they will level up the championship. All-Atlantic title will now be called AEW International Championship.


We get a promo from Bryan Danielson where he says MJF is right. When he woke up from labell lock, he couldn’t feel his arms and realized that he might not be able to play with his kids after this. So, he tapped out. Bryan says its time for him to go home.

Blackpool Combat Club(Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli) vs Dark Order(John Silver & Alex Reynolds)

Moxley and Claudio attack Dark Order before the bell and throw Reynolds to the floor. They corner Silver in the corner and beat him up. Silver fires back with shots on Moxley but Mox hits him with more punches. Claudio tags in and drops Silver with a clothesline. Silver and Claudio block a suplex from each other a few times before hitting a suplex.

Claudio tags Moxley who blocks Silver from tagging out. Mox stomps at him for a while before Claudio tags back in and hit a body slam and a leg drop. Claudio puts on a tight chin lock. Silver picks him up on his back and slams him to the corner. Claudio hits him with uppercuts and more shots in the corner. He misses double knees in the corner.

Silver tags in Reynolds who knocks off Moxley from the apron. Reynolds hits quick strikes on Claudio before a suicide dive on Mox and driveby dropkick on Claudio. Claudio hits a back elbow and throws Reynolds to the floor. Mox hits Reynolds with a clothesline on the floor to take us to a break.

Claudio is hit with a back body drop from Reynolds as we return. Claudio gets into the ring and blocks Reynolds from the tag. Reynolds hits a back body drop but Claudio holds onto him. Reynolds hits him with a double leg stomp and finally tags to Silver. Mox also tags in and Silver hits him rapid fire body kicks. Silver hits a pump kick and a German suplex to get a two-count.

Moxley hits side kick before Silver takes him down with a double leg and unloads with clubbing shots. Moxley goes for a triangle choke but Silver turns it around into a crossface. Claudio comes in and stomps at Silver to break the submission. Dark Order hit Claudio with a combination uppercut. Moxley fights off and puts on a choke on Reynolds as Claudio takes Silver to the floor. Moxley puts on D’arce choke on Reynolds to get a tap out.

Winner – Blackpool Combat Club

After the match, Moxley puts on a choke on Reynolds. Silver comes in to save but Claudio sends him to the floor. Evil Uno runs out to attempt to make the save but Blackpool Combat Club take control over him also. Hangman Page comes out to check on Dark Order. He nails Claudio with a punch and BCC starts beating him up. A team of referees comes out to separate them.

Wardlow(c) vs Powerhouse Hobbs – Falls Count Anywhere Match for AEW TNT Championship

Wardlow is taking Hobbs to the ringside as we return from the break. He throws Hobbs into the ring now. He hits a spinebuster but Hobbs gets back up and hits a spinebuster himself. Wardlow also gets up quickly from it. They trade big rights before Wardlow hits a lariat. He hits F10 to get a two-count. Hobbs comes back with a spinebuster before picking him up and hitting another one to get a two-count.

Hobbs removes padding from the barricade and sends Wardlow into it. Hobbs brings out a table as the referee starts a countdown on Wardlow. Wardlow takes a sip of water and spits it on Hobbs’ face. Wardlow sets up Wardlow on the table hits him with a Swanton bomb. Wardlow covers but Hobbs kicks out of the pin. Wardlow hits a powerbomb on the ramp. Wardlow himself has pulled a muscle in executing that move.

Wardlow takes Hobbs to the stage now. QT Marshall hits Wardlow with a chair shot. Wardlow no-sells it but QT hits a low blow and slams the chair on Wardlow’s face to drop him. QT picks up Hobbs and helps him to throw Wardlow down from the stage. The referee starts to count down against Wardlow. Wardlow cannot get up and Hobbs wins the match.

Winner – Powerhouse Hobbs
