AEW returns with its weekly Dynamite episode on May 3, 2023, and we were here with the live results blog on the road to Double or Nothing 2023 event.

4 Pillars tag team match led the stacked card for the show where Jungle Boy Jack Perry and Darby Allin took on MJF and Sammy Guevara. Perry and Darby had to win this match in order to secure a place in AEW World Championship match at Double or Nothing.

May 3 episode of Dynamite also featured The Elite addressing the fans. Ricky Starks vs Juice Robinson was rebooked after it could not start when booked last month due to arrival and attack from Jay White. The Outcasts Leader Saraya took on AEW Original Willow Nightingale.

A Tres De Mayo Trios Battle Royal was also set for the show with 6 teams being involved. Adam Cole teamed up with Roderick Strong(AEW in-ring debut), Orange Cassidy and Bandido to take on Angelo Parker, Matt Menard, Jake Hager and Daniel Garcia of Jericho Appreciation Society.

Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Orange Cassidy & Bandido vs Jericho Appreciation Society(Angelo Parker, Matt Menard, Jake Hager & Daniel Garcia)

Chris Jericho comes out to be on the commentary before the match. Cole keeps screaming at him to come down into the ring to face him, but Jericho just toys with him. All 8 men in the match face off before the referee Audrey Edwards send every one out. Strong and Garcia start with a lock and jockey for control. Strong hits forearms and chops before tagging in Cole. Cole sends Garcia to the corner and stomps on him. Garcia hits back and tags in Parker. Cole hits punches on Parker before Bandido tags in. Bandido keeps control and hits a body slam on Parker.

Everyone gets into the ring and a brawl breaks out which spills out to the floor. Bandido fights Menard and Cole fights Parker on the floor and work them against the barricade. Cassidy and Hager are in the ring. Cassidy hits a DDT on Hager who rolls out of the ring. Hager catches Cassidy’s dive. Parker hits a knee strike on OC’s back before Hager drives him into the ring post. Bandido hits a senton on Hager and Parker. Cole walks up the ramp towards Jericho but JAS members attack him from behind.

Bandido fights Parker in the ring who tries to hit a suplex but Bandido blocks it. Menard comes in and Bandido tries to hit a suplex on him but Parker saves Menard. Parker and Menard goes for a double suplex but Bandido counters with a double suplex to take us to a break.

Hager is in control against Cassidy as we return. Garcia tags in to hit some body shots. JAS continues toying with Cassidy. Hager puts him in a bear hug. Cassidy tries to get to his corner but Hager hits him with a tackle. JAS knocks off every opponent from their corner. Cassidy ducks past Garcia but nobody is in the corner. Strong comes in and Cassidy fights back to tag in Strong. Strong runs riot with quick moves. He hits a back body drop on Hager. Menard and Parker kick him away to his corner.

Cassidy tags in and Garcia puts him in a sharpshooter. Cole comes in and breaks it with a superkick. Everyone starts to get involved with big moves. Cassidy hits an Orange Punch on Parker and Beach Break on Menard. Garcia takes Cassidy down to pause the activity. Garcia and Cassidy get up. Cassidy hits lazy chops before Parker gets a blind tag. Cassidy and Bandido hit tandem suicide dives on Hager and Garcia. Cole tags in and hits The Boom on Parket to get the pinfall.

Adam Cole runs to the commentary table right after the bell and tackles Jericho down to unload with punches. Crew separates them to close the segment.


Renee Paquette interviews Jungle Boy and Darby Allin backstage before their match tonight. JB says he and Darby are in AEW since day one but they have never main event a PPV, and they would like to change it. Darby says they have to get into Double or Nothing main event by any way possible.


After the break, Cole is being held back by AEW crew while Jericho keeps screaming at him. Britt Baker comes in and slaps Jericho.


We cut to Blackpool Combat Club and Bryan Danielson says there was once a wrestler who used to call himself the best there is, there was and there will be. But Bryan argues that he is the best wrestler ever, or if he is not, any one of the BCC is. And there will be someone to surpass them as the best wrestler in coming years because of what they would be doing. Moxley takes shot on The Elite for leaving behind all the innovations and creativity before talking about the steel cage match next week.

Saraya vs Willow Nightingale

Saraya rolls to the floor as the bell rings. Willow chases her but Ruby Soho and Toni Storm block her. Willow gets into the ring and Saraya is on her with kicks. She gets on her back but Willow slams her to the mat and stomps on her. Willow hits a missile dropkick from the second rope to get a two-count. Willow whips Saraya into the corner a couple of times to hit splashes. Ruby distracts the referee while Toni pulls Willow. Saraya hits a running knee on Willow on the apron. Toni and Ruby beat down Willow on the floor to take us to a break.

Willow is in control as we return. Saraya blocks a Death Valley driver before taking down Willow with a double leg for some ground and pound. Saraya hits knight cap but Willow kicks out of the pin. Willow counters by hitting Death Valley Driver but Toni distracts the referee. Ruby gets into the ring but Willow hits her with an armdrag and tackles her to the floor. Toni is also tackled off the apron. Saraya hits Good Knight DDT to get the pinfall.

Winner – Saraya

The beatdown on Willow continues. Hikaru Shida runs out and with a kendo stick but hugs The Outcasts. She gets the spray can while the Outcasts hold Willow. Britt Baker and AEW Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter run in and attack Toni and Ruby. Shida sprays paint to Saraya’s face. They set up The Outcasts in the middle of the ring and paint “AEW” on them.


We hear from House of Black and say anyone can challenge for the trios title in an Open House match. They list down the rules for the match with no rope breaks, 20 counts on the outside.

Tres De Mayo Battle Royale

Max Caster raps on his way to the floor. The match begins after QTV crew attack The Acclaimed on the floor. Everyone gets into the ring to start brawling. Bowens scissors Penta’s Zero Meido but gets attacked by Woods. Daivari is eliminated by Evil Uno easily. Solow dumps Uno to the apron. QT comes in to help him to eliminate Uno. Rey and Penta were going for Fear Factor on Tony but Varsity Athletes save them. Tony is sent to the apron and Penta walsk the ropes to kick him off the apron to be eliminated. Vikingo eliminates Woods from the match.

Reynolds is sent to the apron by Solow and QT before being eliminated. Rey and Penta eliminate QT and Solow. Lucha Bros work on Hobbs and hit double superkicks. Hobbs hypes up and no sells their attack. Solow and QT pick Lucha Bros’ legs and Hobbs clothesline them to eliminate them. Vikingo hits a spinning back heel kick on Hobbs before hitting a suicide dive on QT and Solow. Hobbs hits spinebuster on Billy Gunn. Hobbs catches Vikingo and throws him to the floor to eliminate him. The Acclaimed work together to eliminate Hobbs. Caster gets to the top rope to scissor but Butcher pushes him off to eliminate him.

Bowens is run down from behind by the Blade. Silver, Billy Gunn, Bowens, The Blade, Butcher and Kip Sabian are the only ones left in the ring. Silver hits a knee strike on Sabian before The Butcher eliminates him. Sabian hits a cannonball on Bowens. Bunn is hit with a cuttter. Butcher and Kip try to throw him out but he holds onto the ropes. Bowens throws out Blade to eliminate him. Butcher and Kip throw Bowens out but he holds onto the ropes. Billy gets into the ring and fights back. Bowens comes in and joins Gunn to hit stereo Fameassers before throwing them to the floor to get the win.

Winners – Billy Gunn & The Acclaimed

Sammy Guevara is interviewed backstage when MJF barges in. Sammy tells him that he saw the show and there was no one in the backseat last week when he denied him entry to his car. MJF starts to weep and says he has chronic back pain from the last year for carrying this company and needed to lie down in the backseat. He did not say so because he knew nobody would understand this. Sammy softens and kisses MJF on the forehead. MJF tells him that he has got a mash-up theme for their entrance tonight.


Kenny Omega and Don Callis are backstage and Omega is trying to weigh in on Moxley’s promo. Callis intervenes and starts to talk about how Moxley gave him a scar on his forehead a few weeks back which led to 23 stitches and a fractured skull. Callis says Moxley will pay for his deeds when he meets The God of Pro Wrestling in the Steel Cage match. Omega says Moxley will pay for what BCC did to The Young Bucks, Takeshita and Callis.

Wardlow vs Logan Laru

Wardlow picks up Logan and hits a powerslam. He follows up with a big lariat to turn Logan upside down. Wardlow starts powerbomb symphony and hits 3 powerbombs to get the pinfall.

Winner – Wardlow

After the match, Wardlow takes the mic and says he is not done yet. He calls out for an open challenge for Luchasaurus to come out and face him. Christian Cage comes out with Luchasuarus. Christian says he can send in Luchasaurus right away and get the TNT title from Wardlow if he wants. But that is not gonna happen and not in Baltimore at least. Christian says the title shot does not belong to Luchasaurus but to Christian himself. Christian walks back.


Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett, Satnam Singh and Sonjay Dutt go to Mark Briscoe’s farm and help him out in the Chores. Papa Briscoe comes in and warns Mark about them. Lethal tells Mark that he has a singles match on Rampage this week. He also challenges FTR for AEW Tag Team Championship at Double or Nothing. He asks Mark how the Briscoes defeated FTR. Mark asks him if that is the reason Lethal is coming to him. Jarrett says they can talk strategy later.

Ricky Starks vs Juice Robinson

Jay White goes back from the stage and Juice is on his own for the match. Ricky slaps Juice after the lock-up. Juice punches him back. Ricky hits a kick and clotheslines Juice to the floor and whips him into the barricade. Juice rakes his face. Ricky hits a back body drop on the floor. Juice counters a whip to send Ricky into the steel steps. Ricky has hurt his shoulder in that collision. Juice hits a body slam on Ricky. Ricky counters and sends Juice into the ring post. Ricky hits a body slam on Juice from the top of the steel steps. We cut to a break.

Juice is nailing Ricky with left jabs. Ricky hits a clothesline to drop him. Ricky is also hurting in his ribs. They get up and Ricky hits a back body drop. He follows up with a back elbow in the corner before a tornado DDT to get a close two-count. Juice counters with a double-leg takedown. Ricky comes back with a brainbuster and goes to the top. Juice gets his knees up on a splash. Juice hits a cannonball in the corner and sets up Ricky on the top to hit a hurricanrana.

Juice hits a big lariat but Ricky kicks out. “Juice is Loose” is blocked. Juice jabs at his throat. Ricky blocks the finisher once again and hits a spear. Ricky hits Roshambo to get the pinfall.

Winner – Ricky Starks

Jay White attacks Ricky after the match. White goes for Blade Runner but Ricky blocks it.


Jungle Boy and Darby Allin get hyped for their match next. MJF gets into the room just as Darby leaves. MJF says he has come in peace and tells Jungle Boy that they can both rule AEW forever at the top, but Jungle Boy is not championship material and can be by his side. Jungle Boy says he can be the World Champion and does not need MJF to become one. Darby Allin walks into the room as MJF and Jungle Boy get into each other’s faces. MJF leaves but Darby is now doubtful about Jungle Boy.

“Jungle Boy” Jack Perry & Darby Allin vs MJF & Sammy Guevara – Perry and Darby get a place in AEW World Championship match at Double or Nothing if they win

MJF and Sammy do rock paper scissors to decide who starts the match. Sammy starts against Jungle Boy. Perry hits a big shot. Sammy hits a big chop before hitting an arm drag. Perry hits more chops. Tags to MJF and Darby. MJF brings down MJF with side headlock takedowns. Darby counters a takedown into a backslide to get a two-count. Sammy and MJF regroup on the floor. MJF gets into the ring and calls for Perry to get in. Perry tags in and MJF says he is pulling his hair. They take Perry to the corner but he ducks a punch from MJF and knocks Sammy off the apron.

Perry takes MJF to his corner and tags in Darby. Sammy hits a knee to Darby’s back. MJF and Sammy take control over. The referee gets distracted by Perry when Sammy uses MJF’s scarf to choke out Darby. The referee catches them on the second attempt. Perry gets to the floor to deal with MJF. Sammy tries to use the scarf but Darby turns it around and chokes Sammy with it. MJF gets in but also gets choked. Darby hits a stunner on MJF. Darby goes to tag Perry but MJF pulls him off the apron to take us to a break.

Sammy has Darby in an abdominal stretch. MJF holds onto Sammy’s hands to put more pressure on the stretch. The referee stops him. Darby kicks at MJF’s hand and hits an armdrag on Sammy to tag in Perry. Perry hits a diving crossbody on both opponents before clotheslines on both men. MJF shuts him down but Perry hits double shoulder tackle. Sammy and MJF move to the floor and Perry hits them with many suicide dives in quick succession. Sammy moves away from one of the dives but Darby hits Sammy with a dive on the other side. Sammy is thrown back to the ring.

Perry gets to the top. MJF distracts Perry, and Sammy hits a Spanish fly from the top turnbuckle for a two-count. MJF tags in and unloads on Perry now. Perry fights off MJF and Sammy and tags in Darby. Darby hits big boots on both men before some combination strikes. He hits Code Red on Sammy. MJF blocks Code Red with a powerbomb. Perry gets a blind tag and MJF slams Darby on the mat. Perry puts on snear trap on MJF. Sammy breaks the pinfall. Sammy and MJF tease stereo dives but MJF holds back while Sammy hits a senton.

MJF hits a shear drop brainbuster on Perry for a near fall. Sammy drops Perry but MJF tags in and goes for a pin attempt. MJF hits a powerbomb on his knee. Sammy gets the blind tag now but Perry kicks out of the pin again. MJF and Sammy start to argue over the tags. Sammy pushes MJF into the turnbuckle. Perry rolls up Sammy for a two-count. He brings Sammy down to his knees and hits a running shot on the back of his head. Darby gets the blind tag and the referee stops the pin attempt from Perry. Darby hits Coffin Drop on Sammy to get the pinfall.

Winners – Jungle Boy Jack Perry & Darby Allin

MJF recovers after the match and picks up his belt to run away to the stage. We see the graphics for a fatal 4-way match at Double or Nothing on the big screen as the show goes off the air.
