UFC handed out four “Performance of the Night” bonuses at UFC 265, including the newly crowned interim Heavyweight Champion Ciryl Gane.

UFC had planned to hand out 3 Performance of the Night bonus awards worth $50,000 each. Vincente Luque, Jessica Penne and Miles John were initially announced for the awards.

MMA reporter John Morgan asked UFC President Dana White why Ciryl Gane is not on the list. On the spot, White proceeded to add Gane as the additional awardee on the list. Gane had defeated Derrick Lewis via TKO in third in a one-sided fight to become the interim champion.

Vincente Luque finished his bout against Michael Chiesa in the first round itself after reversing a submission attempt into his D’arce Choke.

In the prelims, Jessica Penne also racked up his second win in UFC by submitting Karolina Kowalkiewicz in the first round. This was Penne’s second win this year after returning from 20 months of USADA suspension.

Former LFA Bantamweight Champion John Miles defeated Anderson dos Santos in their rescheduled fight via KO in the third round.

Fight of the Night bonuses was given to Rafael Fiziev vs Bobby Green, who went toe to toe in their three rounds fight. Fiziev won the bout via unanimous decision.
