Referee & Judges Announced for UFC 279 Main Event
UFC 279 is around the corner and will take place on September 10, 2022. The event will be headlined by Khamzat Chimaev vs Nate Diaz welterweight bout.
Two weeks ahead of the premium live event, the promotion selected the referee and judges for the headliner bout of the night.
On Tuesday, Nevada Athletic Commission selected a referee and three judges during their monthly meeting for Chimaev vs Diaz.
It is official that the veteran ref Marc Goddard will officiate the bout. Goddard will receive $2500 for his job during the main event.
On the other hand, Sal D’Amato, Derek Cleary, and Ron McCarthy have been chosen by NAC to judge the UFC 279 main event.
Khamzat Chimaev has been coming off a unanimous decision victory against Gilbert Burns, whereas Diaz will enter the octagon more than a year after losing against Leon Edwards.
Now, it remains to be seen whether Khamzat Chimaev will be able to continue his dominant run in the UFC or not when he enters the octagon on Sep 10 at UFC 279.
