UFC to Rebook Miesha Tate vs Lauren Murphy at UFC Long Island
Miesha Tate vs Lauren Murphy flyweight received a new date, venue, and location.
Initially, the bout was scheduled to take place at UFC 276 on July 2. However, the promotion nixed the bout from the match card of its upcoming PPV event.
Now, the promotion announced that Tate vs Murphy is rescheduled for UFC Long Island which would take place on July 16 due to Covid-19 protocols.
This bout will mark Miesha Tate’s flyweight debut. The former UFC bantamweight champion decided to shift to flyweight after losing to Ketlen Vieira in her most recent bout.
She returned from her retirement last year and defeated Marion Reneau via TKO in her first bout. However, in her second bout, she fell short against Vieira.
On the other hand, Lauren Murphy last collided against the flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. She failed to end Shevchenko’s reign and lost the match.
Now, both these women will be looking forward to rebounding from their last loss. Miesha will also try to leave an impact on her flyweight debut when she enters the octagon on July 16.
