Miesha Tate vs Lauren Murphy Nixed from UFC 276
A key women’s bantamweight bout between Miesha Tate and Lauren Murphy has been removed from the match card of UFC 276.
During the broadcast of UFC Vegas 57, it was announced that Miesha Tate vs Lauren Murphy would no longer take place at UFC 276 PPV event.
The reason behind the cancellation of this bout hasn’t been revealed yet. However, it is speculated that the promotion would rebook this bantamweight bout for UFC Long Island on July 16.
It was supposed to be Lauren Murphy’s return bout after she suffered a loss against Valentina Shevchenko in September last year. Shevchenko snapped her five-fight winning streak.
On the other hand, former UFC Bantamweight champion Miesha Tate will make her third appearance after the five-year hiatus. She stopped Marion Reneau upon returning. However, she was defeated by Ketlen Vieira in her most recent bout.
Both Tate and Murphy lost her most recent bout, and hence they will be looking forward to getting the win whenever UFC rebook this bout.
