Edson Barboza vs Ilia Topuria Set for Oct 29 UFC Event

A new Featherweight bout has been added to the match card of UFC Vegas 62. 

According to the latest reports, Edson Barboza is set to lock horns against Ilia Topuria at the UFC Fight Night event on October 29 later this year. EuroSport Spain first reported the news, and then later, several sources confirmed the matchup. 

Edson Barboza is one of the best strikers in the Featherweight but he failed to leave a mark in his past few fights. He only won one out of his last three bouts. 

Giga Chikadze stopped him last year in August and then he faced a unanimous decision loss against Bryce Mitchell at UFC 272. His last win came against Shane Burgos at UFC 262. 

On the other hand, the impressive run of Ilia Topuria continues. He is yet to face a defeat in his MMA career. Topuria even made a successful lightweight debut in his most recent bout against Jai Herbert. He stopped Herbert in the second round to get the win. 

Topuria’s last three wins came via stoppage. It clearly shows that Topuria has great momentum entering his next bout. 

So, will Barboza get back on the winning track and hand Topuria his first loss? Or will the latter put on another show and leave the octagon with victory on October 29? Only time will tell. Till then, stay tuned for more updates.
