A key lightweight match is targeted to take place at the UFC 281 PPV event.

According to the latest reports, Dustin Poirier will collide against Michael Chandler in a lightweight bout at the Madison Square Garden on November 12.

Dustin Poirier is currently the #2 ranked lightweight fighter who has back-to-back wins against Conor McGregor and a decision victory against Dan Hooker.

MMA Fighting reported that Dustin Poirier vs Michael Chandler is indeed very close to being finalized for UFC 281.

He is coming off a loss against Charles Oliveira in a failed attempt to capture the lightweight title. After the fight, he hinted that he would leave the division but it seems like he still has some things to take care of.

On the other hand, Michale Chandler finally got back on the winning track in his recent bout against Tony Ferguson. He defeated Ferguson with a beautiful front kick which could be a potential “Knockout of the year.”

Before that, he lost two consecutive bouts against Justin Gaethje and Charles Oliveira. Now, he must be looking forward to climbing up the rankings once again by defeating Poirier. Whereas the latter will try to get the rebound from his loss in his most recent match.
