Dana White Confirms Khamzat Chimaev vs Gilbert Burns for UFC 273

Khamzat Chimzev is all set to face his biggest threat in the UFC yet in the form of Gilbert Burns. UFC president Dana White confirmed that Khamzat Chimaev vs Gilbert Burns will take place at UFC 273. 

On Monday, Dana White told TSN that a Welterweight bout between Chimaev and Burns is in the works, and then later he confirmed to the Underground that these Welterweights would clash inside the octagon at a PPV event on April 9 in Jacksonville, Florida.

Khamzat Chimaev is undefeated in his MMA career, and he recently entered the rankings. Khamzat is determined to get a shot for the Welterweight championship. However, before that, he has to beat a former title challenger in the form of Gilbert Burns. 

Khamzat Chimaev is coming off a first-round technical submission victory against Li Jingliang. On the other hand, Gilbert Burns must be looking forward to giving Khamzat Chimaev his very first loss.

He will also try to enter into the UFC Welterweight championship picture again. Gilbert is coming off a victory against Stephen Thompson, but before that he lost to the champion, Kamaru Usman via TKO at UFC 258. 

Now, the bout is official for UFC 273, and the winner will get one step closer to facing Kamaru Usman for the Welterweight championship.
