Islam Makhachev will continue to march towards his lightweight title at UFC Vegas 49 as he faces Bobby Green in the main event. Currently on a nine-fight winning streak, Makhachev was eyeing the #1 contender status as he was supposed to face #3 ranked Beniel Dariush. But now, he faces a comparatively easier opponent in Bobby Green.
But, it will not be a straightforward task. Green competed at UFC 271 prelims just two weeks back where he got a unanimous decision win over Nasrat Haqparast. This was his second straight win after beating former title contender Al Iaquinta at UFC 268. Will he cause an upset here with just 10 days’ notice?
Also on the card will be Priscila Cachoeira vs Ji Yeon Kim in the women’s flyweight division. Misha Cirkunov vs Wellington Turman will be the co-main event.
