Russia-Ukraine War Jeopardize UFC London Main Event

Alexander Volkov vs Tom Aspinall UFC Fight Night

UFC is finally making its long-awaited return to London on March 19, but now it seems like the scheduled main event won’t be able to take place due to the Russia-Ukraine war.

The promotion is all set to present UFC Fight Night 204 which will be headlined by Alexander Volkov vs Tom Aspinall Heavyweight bout.

However, the Russian fighter might get some trouble in getting a visa to the UK due to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.

Priti Patel, a member of the UK parliament posted a tweet in which she mentioned that the country will not welcome the national sports teams of those countries who are complicit in Putin’s unprovoked and illegal invasion of Ukraine.

As a result, now the main event of UFC London is in jeopardy. If Volkov doesn’t get the visa, the promotion might announce a new main event. However, the UFC hasn’t announced anything officially yet.

Not only that but the lineup of the UFC London Fight Night event includes three more Russian fighters in the form of Timur Valiev,  Shamil Abdurakhimov, and Sergei Pavlovich.

Now, everyone is waiting for the promotion to announce the status of Alexander Volkov for the Fight Night event that will take place on March 19.
