Algeo vs Burns Set for UFC Long Island After Quarantillo & Askhabov Ruled Out
A Featherweight bout between Bill Alego and Herbert Burns has been added to the match card of UFC Long Island which will take place on July 16, 2022.
Originally, Algeo was supposed to face Billy Qurantillo whereas Herbert Burns was scheduled to collide against Khusein Askhabov. However, both Quarantillo and Askhabov withdrew from their respective bouts, and hence the promotion shuffled the card a bit and booked a match between Algeo and Burns.
Herbert Burns is 2-1 in his last three UFC bouts. He won his promotional debut against Nate Landwehr via first-round KO. Burns won his second match via submission against Evan Dunham. However, after that, he was stopped by Daniel Pineda via second-round TKO.
On the other hand, Bill Algeo’s UFC career is a series of alternate wins and losses. He has won and lost two matches each so far. Algeo is coming off a unanimous decision win against Joanderson Brito earlier this year in December.
Now, Algeo will try to break the tradition of losing a match after winning one whereas Burns will try to regain his lost momentum when he enters the octagon on July 16 at UFC Long Island.
