Alex Pereira UFC 276

Alex Pereira knocked out Sean Strickland at 2:36 minutes of the very first round of their middleweight bout at the UFC 276 event.

Pereira kicked off the match in a dominant fashion with a series of kicks. Strickland tried to come forward but he faced several quick punches from Pereira.

Both fighters landed some punches before Pereira’s right hand missed and failed to hit the target. However, Pereira covered it up with the help of a jab. Strickland landed two quick lefts to Pereira before the latter stunned Strickland with a left hook and knocked him out with a right punch.

After the match, Dana White stated that Pereira is now on a level that he could challenge for the title next. The current UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira are long-time rivals. Before the event, Adesanya even puts Pereira on notice.

Israel Adesanya will defend his UFC middleweight title later this night in the main event of UFC 276 against Jared Cannonier. It is expected that Pereira will be next challenger if Adesanya is able to retain the title.
